What do Ford call that green? It's vaguely similar to my FG, which is "Swift".

Looking good Peter. A mate of mine’s father always bought new Fairlanes and I remember going over to his house to see his ZK in the same green as yours (it was featured in the brochure). His was injected. I prefer the V8, which is why I have a very nice original metallic blue one. 👍

Do they look okay? They are pretty rounded and on a really square car. That said, a new pair is $132 on eBay which I'd prefer to do. I've seen people ask ridiculous amounts for the original rigid type and most have become very brittle with age. Most are around $200 - $400 each with one comedian asking $715 for a minter.

Hi Peter where do you purchase your Acrylic paints in Melbourne? I am about to soon shoot my XA falcon bay in Cosmic Blue. Also who’s doing your platting?
@PeterAndersons16 сағат бұрын
I always buy paint and related products from Milsome Auto Paints in Ferntree Gully, they are excellent and the nicest people to deal with, also very knowledgeable. I have recently started using Big Zinc in Montrose for the plating. They're silver plating is excellent, but gold so far has been very inconsistent.

She's getting there Peter. Nice work mate. Can't wait for the fit out. Are you going to be respraying the whole car ? Can't remember if you mentioned this. For what it's worth, I reckon you should, otherwise it will look patchy, especially being metallic. After all that hard work, it would be a travesty not to paint the whole car. Give her a fresh new look to match all that nice jewellry. God Bless and take care. Regards Tony

Damn, that color DOES look nice and I doubt Ford would have done such a flash paint job in the engine bay. As for swearing, I've been known to use some technicolor language myself from time to time. If I had a YT channel, it would be difficult not to swear occasionally but I would just edit it out. Mind you, I'm not too upset about hearing the eff bomb as long as the content is goo like Cold War Motors when Tom comes for a visit.

Wee all do swear occasionally. I even try not to swear on my KZfaq channel myself either, but it slips now and then. Pretty much the only time it happens is out of frustration over something that happens. That doesn't go quite your way, sometimes, as people do say. I'm glad to hear that you are doing well. You must be converting your ZK Fairlane into a V8 ?

The hard and dirty work continues and it is good to see the progress. It's in very good condition considering the huge number of kilometres it's done. I was concerned about the age limit on tyres when I was getting the roadworthy on my Austin and found that there isn't one. The rule of thumb is 10 years but there is no regulation in Victoria that stipulates the age, only that they need to be in good condition and have enough tread and no cracks. 😊👍

I had the baby brother of the ZK; the XE Falcon. It began life as a 3-3 four speed. A year in, I tossed those and fitted a 302 with a C4. Drove her around like that for the next four and a half years. Had a single system fitted still. Just prefered the more refined rumble. After five and a half years, sold her and got a 1980's Mitsubishi Colt sedan, due to my love of driving small cars that are more driver involved. Three years later, got an aging TP Magna sedan.......a beautiful car when running properly. Wish I still had all three cars. By the way, that ZK looks exactly the same as the one on the cover of a ZK brochure I've still got....... including the colour! That oily green shade was very popular on XE's and ZK's.

My 380 is a kangaroo magnet. Living in a semi rural area, so far hit and killed 4 of them and she has the scars to prove it. It's sad but often they just come out of nowhere leaving you little to no time to respond. Keeping in mind that trying to swerve to avoid them could cause a serious accident.

Hi Ron, great to hear from you. The BMC stuff I've had usually used silver zinc on the fasteners and their silver plating is excellent, but yes, the gold tends to vary. In truth, I find it a bit of a lottery, sometimes it's okay and other times unsatisfactory, cheers.
