Well if yours was anything like mine, with very crappy instructions that looked like they were the 1200th photocopy, it wasn't the easiest to see the parts they wanted you to glue on and or where they wanted you to glue them on, instructions were very vague, so I wish you all the luck in doing yours, just keep at it and you will get it, I believe in you, thank you very much for watching my video.

Nice work! My dad was a deep sea fisherman and sailed on these boats out of Grimsby (hence the registration starting with GY on the model) Grimsby, at one point, was the largest fishing port in the world! You can see an example of this type of vessel at the National Fishing Heritage Museum in Grimsby. Looking forward to your next video.

This is coming along really well. One of the kits I'm working on is a Russian Icebreaker Artika ship model. It's very basic - the instructions are nothing more than a blow-up-diagram - and all the language there and on the box is in Russian so - not the easiest build LOL. but I'm not in a hurry. It's not the best kit but we'll see what it looks like when it's done LOL

As a boy, I built the Revell 1/96 Thermopylae more than 50 years ago. I don't remember what happened to that build as I moved on, but I still miss it and remember it fondly. Today I have received the Cutty Sark 1/96, and I will be busy for a long time. I have watched your build from the start, and I am really impressed by your work and dedication to detail. The end result is superb, and I want to thank you for filming the whole journey. I will build my ship with the included sails, as I did with the Thermopylae. Maybe I will share some of my progress in your Facebook community later on.

My dad built this exact kit when I was a kid, that shift got lost at some point, and I would love to build the Thermopylae one day, so I can display both of them, I would have used the sales at this one but they were just too far gone for it as old as the kit was, I'm glad that you've got the kits for the Cutty, I would love to see pictures of your progress on my Facebook group once you start building it, good luck and have fun, and remember build it for you, there's no need to rush or stress it's only going to be on your show. The San Francisco II appears to be THE stereotypical fantasy ship in video games, cartoons, and art. I never realized it until a few days ago, but it's amazing how many times I've seen a tall ship in fantasy media, and it's literally just the San Francisco II with a different paint job or superficial prosthetics. I'm going to have to buy a kit of this ship eventually, once my skills have reached that level. I'm sadly just a beginner even though I'm 40 years old. I never had the opportunity to have hobbies until very recently. My daughter now officially being an adult is giving me more flexibility with my free time. I guess modeling is my midlife crisis. Wow, that was a random tangent.
@BluestreekCustoms
@BluestreekCustoms 27 күн бұрын
Yes the San Francisco 2 is a very basic ship very commonly used, it's just one of those styles. I haven't finished the ship yet, I set it aside when OcCre sponsored me and sent me the flying Dutchman, and since I bought the San Francisco I figured it was more important to do the sponsored ship, once I'm done with the flying Dutchman I'll get back on the San Francisco. As for the San Francisco it was my very first wood ship that I've ever started, but since I haven't finished it yet, I guess the funny Dutchman in a way is my first complete wooden ship that will be built, then I'll get back on the San Francisco so really between these two ships I've never done a wood ship either so I'm just learning as I go. Your 7 years younger than me, it's never too late to start building anything. And I know what you mean, I did models mainly cars back when I was 8 through 17, and then only through KZfaq that I pick up skill modeling again, so almost 30 years of not building, I have three kids that are all grown up now and all that stuff had to come first if you do build stuff feel free to post on my Facebook group I'd love to see what you're building.
@KlingonCaptain
@KlingonCaptain 27 күн бұрын
@BluestreekCustoms I bought a training model from Model Expo to practice on. It's a 18th century longboat with a sail. I'm also about halfway through a cardboard carrack that I am building as a wedding gift for my aunt. Once it's painted, it will look like wood. After that, I plan on building the trifecta, Niña, Pinta, and Santa Maria. I already bought the Niña kit from Artesania Latina, and the Pinta kit from Amati. I am saving up for the Santa Maria from Pavel Nikitin. I decided that each of the three ships would be from different companies to maximize variation and experience. Truth be told, I really wish that I had thought to do this when my daughter was little so we could have done it together. I guess I'm building up my skills in case I ever have grandkids. Also, I eventually want to build a Scamp micro cruiser kit, which is a real 12 foot sailing dinghy with a top for camping.
@BluestreekCustoms
@BluestreekCustoms 27 күн бұрын
@@KlingonCaptain those should all be really nice kits, I would love to build some of them as well, but I am unable to work, and the wife is the only one that does work, some money is usually pretty tight and very hard to save up, but maybe someday I can afford to get other stuff, I do have to finish the flying Dutchman and of course the the San Francisco 2, but I do have a plastic 1/350 scale Missouri with full photo etch kit and I do have the blue nose 2, I also have a plastic 1/196 scale USS Constitution and the plastic 1/ 225 scale HMS victory
