Great tips with the mitre glue! Love the screw tites too. Use them all the time instead of standard self tapers due to thread design.

Tape round with masking tape, the blue 3M is good...I have fitted a great many fittings to both vans and boats in te past 35 years. Your doing great! very OCD, Its a great mantality to have it makes the neatest jobs. Just one more thing be careful with the double O ring inserts..there are some JG fitting that leave very little pipe after the insurt. On occasion it has not entered the fitting in order for the stainless washer to grab it enough, measure the one with an O ring and then measure a normal one. Then measure a few fittings you have, you will see what im getting at. Great channel and great vans 👍

Great vid. Always good to see different, in depth content. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen one of those red 4x4 sprinters rocking round my area (newton abbot). Always in opposite direction.🤙

Amazing to see the amount of care, precision, and taste you manage put into your product. I admire that you dare to share all of that out in the open. Absolute joy to watch you working and understanding your reasoning behind your decisions.

I'm in awe of the quality of your work. Sometimes for no deserved or even understandable reason life can deal a pretty crap hand - in my life and work I've seen lots of folks given a bum deal - but through the hard days just remember it's no reflection on you. Keep the faith in the quality that you are and in what you do; it's a truism (even metaphorically) that through the long night follows day.

Fascinating video showing the reality not the stageshow. I am well aware myself of these issues that in a sense stop momemtum having run my own Caravan/Motorhome business for 10 years. The time involved in just sourcing parts and rectifications can be a slog for sure. Customers are needed but are also in control. You are clearly very professional and produce some great work Calum so wish you all the best on your path ahead. :ook forward to your updates!
@julianpilkington49902 ай бұрын
tricky, feel you pain with being accommodating to customer 'wants'......maybe swaying you from knowing and insisting on whats best, and now results in sticky/costly outcomes. sounds like you are are doing honourably at resolving. bespoke builds...bespoke outcomes. good luck, keep going!

Really loved your honesty in this Calum. Been following onwards for a while, since we created our own little van. We have definitely been inspired by your van designs. It’s so easy to think that everyone you see online has it all figured out, its really great to see that we are all just figuring it out as we work our way through the world. Loving this little corner of KZfaq.

When are we getting more of these? All of the episodes have been FANTASTIC SO far! I've been following you for years and have most of your publications (and shirts - please make more of these! Mine is at the end of it's life!!) I would absolutely LOVE to see you work on your new personal van. I'm just now in a position to get my first van, and due to budget - will be converting myself - love this sort of thing anyway. I'm not sure whether to go T5, or. Ducato just yet, but which ever way I go it'll be closely modelled on your designs as they are head and shoulders above the competition. Keep it up, and release more content!! PS if you are sellling, any Onwards merch, please let me know! I'd love aT, or pull over!

Ah man, it’s sad to see it go. It’s amazing how it’s had such an effect on so many people though. It’s pretty much what persuaded me to my my van. I am going through exactly same thing with my van at the minute. I’m still may get it repaired if it’s not gonna cost me a fortune. I would really miss it if I had to get rid of it

I'm sure it was a hard decision to let the van go but in the end the right decision with the amount of work needed. I wish there were still some copies of the journal available as I'm missing 2 and 4. Looking forward to what's next in whatever van you choose.
