Thanks for reply an advice. I’ll check the coil resistance as you recommend. Your response was very helpful! Fuses are good. Game works, but three problems. Red star coil won’t activate, so will check the coil. Coin drop works fine and adds games, ur the meter on the coin door has been disconnected and does not work. I can’t tell from schematics if it’s the total plays meter or the 25 cent coin meter. 3rd issue is the

3rd issue is the process to award a free game after scoring enough runs does not work. Will check resistance on the coils, should of thought of that!

Do you still have this game? I picked one up and in the process of restoring it. Fun game. I have yet to get the magic star lights working in game. I can manually activate them in the back box, but can’t get them working in game. I noted from your videos, your game is the same with the star lights never coming on. Did u ever figure this out? Thx!

I am wanting to get one myself, but no I don't have it. I fixed my client's game due to multiple issues. Just go through the process from the coin drop to game mode after reset. There is a second "reset" motor that reverses the scoring system until it picks up the end-of-loop trigger and then it switches over to game mode including using the "game" motor to for scoring and light sequencing. Pay attention to those relays that involve coin drop, reset and game play. If any relay isn't working, check its coil resistance. If a fuse is blown, you have a short in one of the coils. Never over-rate fuses but you can solder a circuit breaker onto a dead fuse to see if it will pop while testing. Don't put in both fuses for coils--the one that says "low line" is actually a mode that will boost the power to them; either one of them is used. Finally double check the exposed wiring around the scoring system--one bad move and it can short the transformer. Those bulbs are 12 volts, not 6. Good luck!
Ive always loved oddessy fun world ever since the Tinley Park location and when i got older i moved to Aurora in 2012 and got a chance to experience the napperville location and ironically i got a job as a senior field service tech in late 2019 and had the job of dismantling and doing cable management on all the games. The fx virtual machine gave us huge headaches, not to mention outside in the back of that place was said to be haunted.

Had no idea that Midway collaborated with Nissan for this. Designed by Jay (now Jamie) Fenton, who later worked on Gorf, this collaboration from 1977 was said to be the first time an arcade game had ever been officially licensed. Initially there was a sponsor-free version called Midnight Racer, released a few months earlier.

With 3 kids we had like 6 birthday parties between both locations, first at Tinley Park then there. We had like 35-40 kids + parents at a couple of them. IDK which had it but there was a reactive shooting gallery game that was awesome it was above the ticket games you shot from the "adult" video game area balcony. That was a great idea they kept the Mortal Kombat type shooter types and classic games like Donkey Kong, centipede up there too.
@DanLovesPinballsnGames Жыл бұрын
All their redemption games including their unique shooting gallery setups where phenomenal! They even brought in a few or their rides indoors. The upstairs were intended for older audiences including some classics as well and we had a good lineup of pinballs long ago. Yes, there were some shooters including life-like scenes with video game content rating stickers posted on them and the same with any fighter game we had there. We even had the world's biggest video arcade game the Galaxian 6 player theater which brought video games at an extraordinary level of video-game environments! It was one of the best family entertainment centers I've seen and Tinley Park stood out loud and proud!

Thanks for making this video! Have a lot of fond memories from this place as a kid, I’m sorry that I never got a chance to go back once I was older. That jungle-gym play area (don’t know the right word for it) was absolutely massive, probably more fun than the arcade itself to young me. I definitely had a few nightmares about the animatronic musicians, as well as Bonehead from the shooting gallery. I was a fragile kid. I actually went looking for OFW videos because I remembered being afraid of the shooting gallery and thought it’d be funny to see how tame it really was. But man, this brought back a flood of nostalgia.

What did you change. I know you can go down the wizard mode path to finish. What's the other way? I think this is an incredible table!
@DanLovesPinballsnGames Жыл бұрын
table fixes including stuck ball at the top of the ramp. At rare times, the ball will permanently sit there. Added additional sound effects. Tweaked the ball search to give another ball if the stuck ball does not move after a full search. Added extra displays just for kicks that can be toggled on or off: red display = clock to midnight mode, yellow = status (ball in play, credits, # extra balls), fluorescent blue = player's score and below it is the point value on each switch hit or mode completion. Added replay animation. Later in revision (g) added an animation that shows the player is half way there to the wizard mode. Plus a few other tweaks. Paging top ten high scores. Later when the new patch for ball physics was added I had to tweak some more table issues that suddenly raised.

That is a fluorescent display which needs extra power to run. Possibly a loose connection somewhere or a fuse to a high-voltage section of the rectifier transformer assembly.
