Great video which explains the strategy upfront, all the inter relations between areas and the detailing, even considering the door entrance of some buildings. Loved this one!

If you keep this up you can be the new "City Planner Plays" Over the years CPP has dropped some of the informative side of his gameplay for more story driven content. This video brings me back to why i originally fell in love with CPPs videos. But you're doing so much more. You really put the emphasis on "planner". From the early sketches on how to build the city to then build it up step by step, it could have been an episode of "How it's made" with the music and the voice over. This is Cities skylines edutainment at it's finest.

I really enjoy CPP's videos too. Being compared to him is flattering, but being the new CPP is a bit much because he's still around =D Just kidding, I get what you mean. Your feedback means a lot to me, thank you so much!

Bravo! I have to admit: this video kinda shows how lazy I am. I've been playing CS for years. I own it on pc and Xbox. I've played hundreds of hours. I've been watching KZfaq videos as much as I could. As well as searching for anything to improve my traffic management without mods. This video is truly amazing and shows true beauty. Thank you so much. Great job. Great job.

I prepared this video from the first gameplay trailer. With the help of my city planning experience, I have also accurately resolved 'almost' all of the significant game mechanics that I analyzed. Now that many of them have been revealed, I'd like to share some insights about the two aspects that the 'almost' part relates to. Firstly, the display of the three different 'residential demand bars' showing 'low/medium/high density residential demand' has been clarified. In my interpretation, it's directly related to the new 'wealth' information shown in the growable info section of the trailer, indicating a low-medium-high wealth pattern for residential demand. Paradox's website elaborates on this topic in detail. (For instance, "Medium and high-density housing areas are less affected by the increased Land Value as the living costs are divided among many dozen households.") While these bars aren't explicitly divided by wealth, there's a strong indirect connection, and I believe this link is the game's biggest innovation! The other topic is about the signature buildings mechanic. I managed to accurately predict which buildings are the signature ones in the trailer and why. However, as they fall under the zoning category, I thought they would behave like 'growables,' having unique features but acting somewhat like 'growable' buildings, appearing as a surprise effect when not directly placed by us. Unfortunately, they turned out to be 'ploppable' even though they behave like 'growables.' Though a bit disappointed in this aspect, I still believe it's a significant innovation as it is. What are your thoughts? Have the revealed features met your expectations?

Decent video, but im 6 minutes in and youve missed some information. 6:10 the 'megalopolis' is just unlock level. Same as in the first game, everything is unlocked. Look at the 5000 population, its a small town likely of only low residential hence no medium or high density demand. I believe this will be tied to education like in the first game, just indicated better. In the first game as the game went on and you started introducing higher density and offices etc, you needed more education otherwise places wouldnt have educated workers. I feel like this might be vaguely tied to that, but otherwise i think it is just low, medium, high. Also i dont get why people are so baffled by signature buildings. Arent they in CS1? Dont they make it so the building stays the same or something?
@empathcityplanner
@empathcityplanner 11 ай бұрын
Thank you for your detailed comment. Megalopolis states that all features are already visible in the trailer, which is evident. What I wanted to emphasize is that in CS1, we can start with high density residential zoning while all features are unlocked, and demand aligns with supply. The benefit of this is that it provides a more open gameplay. Now, if the 3 green demand bars in CS2 are related to density, it means the freedom I mentioned will be replaced by a zoning type that we must choose obligatorily. In real life, population density is an important issue that affects the entire city, and demands can influence it, but these demands are more related to well-being rather than zoning type or density shape. Education already seems to be directly linked to the level of prosperity in the game. As for signature buildings, they should not be confused with historical buildings; I believe they will be a truly significant mechanic. Because even if we want them, they may never appear depending on the conditions! =)

With a beach like that, you should add some of those tourist beaches from the workshop. Been searching videos on how to get my brain from making grid pattern after grid pattern to something more organic and your vids have given me some nice ideas. Thank you. Keep up the series. Excited to see it play out. New sub here.

Welcome! 🤗 Yes, good advice. I need to make good use of the beach area. Generally, the parcel structure of the game leads us to the grid layout. Hopefully, Cities Skylines 2 will be more flexible in this regard. Thank you very much for your support!

I love this approach! A great series that has strongly refreshed my approach to the game. I wasn't a fan of grid but your approach shows how cool organic design can look. I'm curious about your approach to the road hierarchy. Of the mods I would only recommend Planing roadses! It helps a lot when visualising designs. Keep it up!

This approach is all about implementing the principles I've learned from my education into the game. The key is to plan well-balanced neighborhood units. By the way, it's been a little while since the last video, I'm working really hard to develop my skills in video creation. Sorry for the delay.☹ And thank you for your great comment! 😊

Great video. You really inspired me to get away from my habit of sticking with grids. I just started a new city, “Sansgrid” and I’m following your style - it’s like a whole new game. I’m realizing it’s ok that houses and commercial can consist of smaller sized pieces and still function. Great job.
