I disagree. There's no way I would be ok if my friend sex someone in my bed, leaving panties and discharge and wearing my robe. If she was a real friend, she'd encourage him to heal and then date after the divorce. No other "guests" allowed in my home when he barely got a place to stay. Would love to see more mature minded people and healthier relationships.

That was heartbreaking to think that a character that's only on the show 10 minutes murders Ned. But the fact that he was willing to leave a grieving mother, wife and child is disturbing. I understand he was a man of principles but he could have went somewhere else with his family intact. This was totally senseless. He was gone 20 years and back for a very short time only to be killed off.. tragedy follows this woman. Knowing how much his mama has gone to and people she loved died I don't know how he could do this to her. She begged him to go back to Kansas. Any calmly says I'm going to die. That's what I'm having trouble comprehending how a man could know and what heartbreak he was willing to leave behind.

I am so glad let my mind has never been able to contemplate this kind of inhumanity. I'm white but many years ago I took a back road from Mobile to theodore. I was all alone and suddenly out in the field I see a fire and around the fire was the ku Klux klan. It scared the total s*** out of me where I could barely drive until I got far from them. I can only imagine what it was like for other people. Oh no all I can think about while she's talking about him being the head horse trainer is he's going to die by a horse. That's what I've seen in a lot of other shows where the woman is so proud of her man who could break even the bad horses. And then what happens is they end up dying by that evil horse. Like I said that's been in a lot of stories. I hadn't seen it yet I'm predicting it it already makes me sad. How can so much bad stuff happen to one person. But it's like most people who don't know that what energy you put out in the universe can happen to you. Her own fears manifested itself. Oh no and because of her she's actually going to make it happen. But it wasn't like she was actually doing it undercover. She literally brought about her own prophecy through her fears. Hindsight she literally brought about the circumstances of his death. But like I said I've seen this on other shows too.

I know the story is fiction but based on truth but I got to give it to the people who did this it took a lot of guts. Imagine not knowing direction and even having a cross a river.

I thought my heart would break watching them get attacked and the big woman fighting them to protect her child only to end up dead. And then showing that little babies lower leg and feet with blood all over it. Hide that poor little boy he don't know what's going on. See his mama and baby brother dead it's sickening. What I was trying to say when Miss Jane said the Yankees took everything they could with them and destroyed the rest. That's exactly what I was talking about. How much did they care about former slaves then? And because of what the Yankees did that caused a lot more white people to resent them then before the war. People were starving barely making it And the people who really knew nothing about slaves started to blame them. Yeah a northern army went into the South and totally destroyed it. How they thought former slaves were going to be able to take care of themselves is beyond my thinking Outlook the white woman at 30 minutes is saying exactly what I've said in the comments section. She does hate them and she says why it's because of them everything was destroyed. This is coming from people who did not own slaves and because they're ignorant to the realities of it. They take their anger out on former slaves. At this woman saying they killed my boy and my man and you're the cause of it in her reality that's true. Even people who had empathy for former slaves I thought it was evil, they became angry also. I've said this for many years. It had nothing to do with their color but what came about from it all. The north left the South hungry and impoverished. It's so funny what a brave girl not knowing any direction heads North and even takes a little boy with her. Not everybody can do what she did

So many people died it's disgusting. How they would steal the food out of other people's mouths and even destroy their fields and homes. Homes where the helpless were. They gave ignorant hateful men weapons. Women and children were raped by the armies marching through. So far in this movie they're trying to make the Union soldiers to look concerned and respectful. The main difference in both armies is someone who is intelligent, educated. As opposed to the ignorant Seriously with the Yankees coming through and stealing what food there was and destroying everything how did they think black people were going to feed themselves or even get paid by their former master? And because the former slaves were uneducated didn't know anything about the world many of them up and left without knowing how they're going to take care of themselves and their family. Any solution practically died with Abraham lincoln. There was no adjustment period. So many of them travel North because they were promised a better life up there. The people in the north didn't want them anymore than anyone else. They took jobs away from people because they would work for less and there was overcrowding. They thought they were going to be welcomed with open arms what the union did not foresee was so many people descendant on them in a short amount of time. Imagine telling the little girl just to come to Ohio and she'll be taken care of. Only to make it to Ohio and find out there was nothing there for her. They're drinking and partying right now how they going to feed themselves tomorrow? It's heartbreaking there should have been a plan to integrate former slaves I think the people on James plantation were lucky that their former Master gave them food to travel by. I'm sure they didn't happen with a lot of other people. My people may have been poor but I've always felt blessed that I was white. Remember I'm 67. I remember how some things used to be. A new life was hard for some and that my mom leaving the back hills of Georgia with nothing and accomplishing the things she did made me so fortunate.

There is so much left out of history. Maybe it's just details to some people. Not understanding why so many white people hated them. They've left out history what happened to the poor white people after the civil war. Were they probably had compassion at one point the treatment by the Union soldiers in carpetbaggers after the war made them blame the former slaves for what they are being put through. The majority of poor white people didn't give a crap about fighting a war so that rich white men can stay rich and get richer. Being illiterate and ignorant they thought it was about segregating from the northern states and becoming its own country. The Irish was the most affected by all of this. Look down upon as the scum of the earth they worked for much lower wages then most white people. Then after the war former slaves would work for even less. So many Irishman lost their jobs because of this and many starved to death then you had widows and children being abused in the South with no husband or father to protect them. All of a sudden there were back taxes on property which they knew no one could pay. The most hated people after the civil war were carpetbaggers. So it's time past anger was directed towards black people for everything bad that had happened to them. It wasn't the color of the skin but what was brought about by the civil war. I'm sure a lot of former slaves think that they deserved it but many women and females were raped by the union armies. I don't know why white women were blamed. I don't think any of their wives like the fact that their husband head black mistresses or even women they had raped. This is just part of one half of a story. There are other parts where I'm totally condemning what happened to the slaves. It was horrific and wrong for so many ways. It's just in this comment after watching the show I'm giving a different the real perception of what was happening. Same as Abraham Lincoln be in their hero thinking he's the one that freed them have no idea what his plans were for former slaves after the war. He was going to ship them to a place in Northeast Africa. He wasn't even against slavery in the beginning. The big question was should new States be allowed to own slaves. That's what he was against. And because people don't bother researching this they don't realize he's not the hero and savior of slaves. I don't understand why they have to cross a river to go north. Have you ever noticed in all these movies they always cast and make them look even more ugly and dirty looking white men. And a lot of times even make or choose the ones that look pink.

Beautiful storey. How many people get judged unjustly for being different and misunderstood for their intentions. How one person (you) can make a difference in other people’s lives, believing in the good in people no matter what other think.
