Don’t think R9 was very fast especially towards the end of his career when he gained weight. Also he used to miss tons of shots in front of the goal and in important games

Ronaldo was trouble for many defenders. They couldn’t handle him. Ronaldo had great speed, shoots very hard, and can maneuver defenders with his speed very fast, and scores. He was a great player.

People keep rambling about Messi or the other Ronaldo. Frankly, I take the original Ronaldo in his prime over these guys any day of the week. Sure, longevity is a thing but prime is more important to me.

Messi is slightly better in dribbling, freekick and playmaking than Ronaldo. But other than those, Ronaldo is much more talented. Just wished he was more hardworking in strengthening his knees. And yes Cristiano is not in the same level.

R9 played in an era when technicality and skill with the ball was the primary thing in football. Not only did he have the amazing skill, but he also brought his athletic ability on top. He had it all. Now days players are selected for their athletic ability first. And the technical ability is secondary. Which is why we really don't see the flair and skills that R9 possessed much today.
