I still love this bike so much. Was amazing on a 4,600 mile cross country trip and plenty of power to play around. Its such a blast! Only other bike i would like now is some sort of ducati or the new 2025 gsxr coming out.

Great video, cannot wait to get out there next year. Did you guys stay centrally and venture out each day, or did you stop somewhere different each day on a big loop?

I would think the roads are winding because of the plenty of hills about on the eastern side of the US. Also, looking back at history, both French and British were there, so making the roads, whereas when heading west, you come across the pararies which are just flat for hundreds of miles, nothing to go round until hitting the Rockies. Your drone shows why there's no straight roads🤣

You said you wanted to know if anyone has had issues with BMW warranty claims. That would be me! I have a 1250gsa and the paint on the engine started bubbling after less than a year, which is a common issue because BMW does a shit job of painting the engines and is probably why they changed the paint on the new bike. Now I am obsessive about cleaning my bikes and cars. I use ceramic wax to protect the paint and am meticulous with it. However, when I took it into BMW they said it was a maintenance issue. In fact when I took it in and spoke to the guy at the desk, the guy took a quick look at the bike from a distance and rudely said it looks dirty.... It had just been cleaned thoroughly just before taking it in and had a tiny bit of road splatter because it was raining. So he obviously went into it trying to make it out to be something I had done. I also had the other common issue with the 1250, which is the exhaust flapper was stuck and causing an error to show up. Now other people that have had that got their whole exhaust replaced.... I think they just disabled mines, because I could tell that none of the bolts had been touched. They just said they "fixed" it. If you ask me these are adventure bikes and are meant to be built to take punishment. They are meant to be thrown around in mud. It shouldn't be rusting after a year from driving in occasional rain and sitting in a garage. Yet they seem more fragile than something like the s1000rr. I complained about it to BMW central and they said I just have to take it up with the dealer as its up to the dealer not them. Which seems odd because to my knowledge they get sent pictures and they make the decision. So yeah the BMW dealership in Dalkeith, Midlothian are super nice before you give them your money.... but as soon as they have it, they are rude and will do anything to get out of warranty claims. Aside from that my gas cap stopped opening with the keyless thing and left me stranded.... so because I don't want to ever have to deal with the dealership again I just modified it to just always open. I love my GS, its the best bike I have owned. But I have only ever had to use warranty on one of my Japanese bikes and the Yamaha dealer were great with it. I have never had so many issues with the one bike before and the experience from the dealer has put me off buying another one. Id have considered the new 1300 and at the time was considering trading my ninja for an m1000r... but I'll probably hold on to this till it dies and never touch a BMW bike again.... you were certainly right that it matters more about how they deal with issues.... and in my case they are awful!

Great roads overthere , I was lucky to drive the tail of the dragon also this year. I like the USA roads . And also the people whom drive them. They're as nuts as I am. When I am able to do I will return and I hope I can enjoy more, by the way I like the series ;-)

Having good company just wanting to spend time with, like, tea/coffe and chat, as well as chill while charging, is okay. But a companion who just wants to race and ride, won't be fun to be with.

If your wife loves those types of homes with junk in the yard, then I would think a reservation is a brilliant idea. When I visited the States some years ago, we travelled through the Navajo Reservation up near the Grand Canyon. They have vehicles that look as if they've been literally driven into the ground, and left to rot🤣. The other reservation we drove through, the Apache reservation at San Carlos in southern Arizona, wasn't as bad. But at least the weather isn't as bad as West Virginia, just very hot in the summer/autumn months🤣. Enjoying the video. The mic sounds ok to me. Talking about wildlife. When me and my hubby first visited the States (Wisconsin), we were having a drive around, like yourself, down the narrow roads, and we had to watch out for deer. The first time, a full grown doe walked out of the wood at the side, and about a yard behind her was a fawn. It was awesome to see, and nice to see that traffic had come to a halt to let them cross

Have the 2018 since half a year. Bought it with 7000 km and now I am on 17000 km. I live in Peru and we have some of the most awesome mountain roads with twisty turns and passes of 5000 Meter plus. Did a day ride from the pacific shore to Lake Titicaca in one day, riding from 0 to 4870 Meters ending the day in 4000 at Puno. What fun this bike is! Did a tour last March with my wife from Peru - Bolivia - Argentina - Chile and back to Peru. No issues at all so far. My wife never had any comfort issues and enjoyed the ride, apart from crossing the mad traffic cities of El Alto and Potosi in Bolivia, where you cross red lights, because the guys behind you won't stop. Love the bike and she is so much fun to ride and flips trough the switch backs with such pleasure. Ride safe!

Nice bike, i just wish bike manufacturers could bring out models without all the bells and whistles. This bike would be just as good without all the electronics. 2 Grand for a steering lock issue, that's the reason I've got a V-strom. All the best.

Living and riding up here in DownEast Maine is so different than what you find down in Appalachia. Roads here are generally fewer and further between and in much tougher shape. Also, here we're constantly watching for big deer and moose walking into the roads and blind corners.

Blue Ridge Parkway is just brilliant. I've done sections of it twice, unfortunaly by car with the family. One of these days I'll do it by bike. They are stunning roads and are so much fun. But, at times, you do have to watch out for black bear, elk, deer, mountain lion and other fun creatures. Stunning roads and views, all worth it. Those other roads though ... they are a biker's dream. Michael is a top guy.

How many more rides left in the "Deliverance Ride" series? Keep in mind all or most of the people in Appalachia came from "Great Britain" years ago, so Birds of a feather is the expression that comes to mind! After seeing you lost a friend (next video) I take it you're home now ? (since you said it happened near a "loch" ______.) Riding just isn't safe, even if other drivers are "watching out for motorcycles" many aren't riding like their lives depend on it. It's tragic that a life was lost but we need more track days so people can ride fast in a safer place and ride safe on our roads. I just watched a video where a car turned in to a driveway any cut off a bike, so slammed on the brakes and got rear-ended by a spider that was following close (in a group ride/event). Not sure of the out come but the one was motionless in the road and two others were in a flooded yard. They had life flight there so it wasn't anything they were walking away from. It's sad! I just want a DR650 or something like that to ride backroads (put around on) but don't know if I'll ever take the plunge. If I do I hope that I'm old enough to ride like I drove a truck with plenty of time to take action and be safe. I wish the families the best in a difficult time God Bless you all!

I am not a biker rider but l have done the motoring advanced course in the 80's ina van . It was good to see it from a bikers vision and commentary. An added bonus was the dulcet tones of a fellow Scotsman. I used to drive an impact lorry in road traffic management in London, it was interesting to see the reactions of motorists and bikers when l lowered the impact cushion, they would do anything to get past me.
