Hello everyone, I bought a Helion 10, installed it, and everything seems fine, but the range is very small, probably a maximum of 700м? Goggles lose contact. I'm using the following equipment: (Crossfire Tango 2 transmitter, DJI Goggles 2. TBS crossfire.) There are no significant interferences. I tested it in an open field. Big thank you for any help!

Have you done the FCC update for the Goggles 2? The Helion comes from the factory with the air unit in low power mode. The FCC hack will fix it. Here are Rotor Riots' instructions... kzfaq.info/get/bejne/a86qabl_t9PSl30.htmlsi=PfYaIiGNmylLy8nG

Wonderful video & what a beautiful area to be flying in. I have a Helion 10" & live in northern Michigan where I'm wanting to fly in areas like this. I'm trying to figure out the best gps settings & the return to home option & make sure it works correctly before going any long distance so for now I've been simply flying around a big open park. Are you running betaflight 4.5? Great flying btw.
@AboveTheBigSky18 күн бұрын
Hello! Yes... updated to 4.5 right after getting it. I have had to engage RTH twice since then due to video loss behind obstacles. It has always worked flawlessly and gotten me back to where the video has come back.

Great description from an online source: The tower atop Libby Dam in northwestern Montana is truly representative of the cooperation between Canada and the United States. The upstream face of the tower contains this massive sculpture commemorating the Columbia River Treaty between the two countries for the cooperative development of the vast Columbia River Basin water resources. The man pictured in the center is a Kootenai Indian-the first people on this land. His harnessing of two wild horses represents the harnessing of natural forces by man. Clouds, rain, and sunshine symbolize creation and the ever-present forces of nature at work. The fish and flying geese represent the wildlife that finds sustenance from the waters of the Kootenai River and the environment. In the lower left is a bald eagle representing the United 1 States, and opposite that in the lower right is a maple leaf representing Canada. This figure commemorates the two nations working in cooperation in the construction of Libby Dam. The sculptor, Albert Wein of Encino, California, was selected by international competition. The giant bas-relief sculpture measures 27x30 feet and weighs 75 tons.

Make sure your props are tight. There should be no gap props to motor bell. I had a prop come loose carrying a heavy li-ion pack. Props were tight but had a little daylight showing. Luckily only one arm broke falling from 150 ft with a 18,000 mah pack. 24 cells two red 9ah upgrade energy packs.

So we will attempt again next week without slide. We still got in 11.5 miles yesterday.....so if anything we both got our exercise. This is great intel on what to expext further on down the ridgeline.

Hello, great, I have a concern, could you help me?,,,,,, I have the new Helion 10" from Iflight with tbs crossfire diversity and a Tango 2, I am not an expert in configurations, just testing the drone, the quality of Rssi that shows the OSD on the glasses is 1:100 and a friend gets 2:100 with the Elrs receiver, how could I get 2:100 on my OSD, I guess it's settings in betaflight? And I guess having 2:100 Do I have better reception? When I'm a little far away it changes to 0:100 and I get a notification that says: RXLOSS But the "Tango 2" control signal itself has the full 5 dashes, meaning full signal... What does it mean that I'm losing signal? control? The radio is a Tango 2 with 1w power. I would appreciate your help!!!👍
@AboveTheBigSky4 ай бұрын
The numbers you are looking at are the LQ or Link Quality. X-Fire will have slightly different numbers than ELRS, so dont get too excited that you aren't getting 3:100 as your friend is. I wonder if your X-Fire is set to dynamic packet rate, which is why you are seeing such fluctuations. I can't explain RSSI and LQ better than Oscar Liang. Here is the link to the best description on the web. I bet it will help. oscarliang.com/lq-rssi/#What-is-LQ

Cool Upgrade Energy pack on the drone ;) I just ordered a Helion 10 from ProgressiveRC, excited to see what pack works best with the drone. I'm thinking a 6s2p Molicel P45b with the XT90 should work well

I love your cells for long range. In my opinion, they are the best Li-Ion packs on the market. So far I have been getting great flight times on the red 5600mah packs. For me, these have a great capacity to weight ratio for larger long range birds.

Use some tape on those wires. This drone flys sweet. I use it to cover Offroad races when the winds are high. Cool mod. My usb 5v port was doa. Waiting for the new board to arrive.

So my gopro batteries freeze up in the cold. I tried using the USB power on the helion but it was stopped recording a few min into flight. Run into this issue yet?
@hyoh-wu5 ай бұрын
@CRAGLORD I know mt mini 3 pro batteries HATE the cold....have had batteries go from 35% to 7% in a mater of seconds without warning.
@AboveTheBigSky5 ай бұрын
@CRAGLORD in my bench review of the Helion I touch briefly on the USB port and how I lost power while using it. I'm still not sure what the reason is??? As far as using batteries in my gopro, I mostly use the Enduro battery, which is more cold resistant and provides longer run time. I haven't had any issues while using that specific battery.

what size are the screws and threads ?
@AboveTheBigSky5 ай бұрын
They are standard M3 fine thread machine screws just like the ones used in the canopy (most iFlight drones come with a few extras of these in the package... in various lengths). Just make sure that the total stud length is about 10 or 12mm after you cut the head off. Then screw it in until about 4mm is still exposed.

nice ! this should be good , the antennas also holds the cover in place, so its not going anywhere.

Thanks for this video. As of making this comment, I've only had one flight day with my Helion, but upon inspection following watching this video, I noticed one of the (aft canopy, left) motor wires had an indentation from the canopy. I added some fabric tape and a zip-tie at each of the arm/body junctions creating what is (perhaps) a "smoother" alignment into the designed canopy openings and hopefully providing better clearance/relief to any "pinching"
