Thank you Eve for this butterfly tutorial. I am a beginner to all felting and have attempted a wet felted butterfly which didn't go so well. So many useful tips in your video, using the template/resist, mixing the angelina into the wool, your little octopus tool and the way you folded the butterfly to massage it against itself. Following these tips, I am sure my next attempt will be much improved. I think they would be lovely hung up in a window to sparkle in the light, although I would like to make mine into a coffee coaster to give as a gift to a friend

Too many knots on the ends. Much cleaner to "whip" the ends! Makes a cleaner end and easier to glue on the end caps and patch! I would NEVER tie bulky knots anywhere on my project... makes it harder to glue securely.
@bogus_not_me11 ай бұрын
If you don't have bobbins, another way to keep beads is to run the thread around and back through the last bread, maybe tie an overgrown knot to be sure. Then the beads are below the disk and easier to control...

Thank you for sharing your talents. I've only been doing this with 8 strands on the beginner's 32 slot disk, and always wanted to see how to set colors in the order i wantedI

I’m sorry, I had to stop watching your video! You totally OVER explain, lose your train of thought, and repeat yourself. Every other video is approximately 7 to 18 minutes and this one is 36:12 minutes. This is because it is full of useless information! Even for beginners, this is too much information. I apologize if this comment seems rash. I honestly do not wish to hurt your feelings or damage your reputation. Please, do not be offended. I really don’t mean for you to be even though this appears to be harsh. My only intent here is that hopefully you will review some of the other KZfaq videos on the same subject and then maybe take a look at yours. I’m thinking that perhaps you may see what I did. I just found myself totally frustrated and had to find another tutorial. I truly do wish that I could send this to you privately. Unfortunately, this is not the case. I honestly do only wish you well and, as I didn’t stay long enough to see how your project turned out, you quite obviously felt confident enough to put it on KZfaq and, therefore I am assuming of course, it turned out awesome! So, having said all of this and hoping that you maybe took a little of what I said to heart, I am looking forward to seeing some of your videos in the future! Just hear the …whisper of your muse!

Sorry to say that, but your tutorial is ok, but could be much improved if you observed some principles. If yo go back to it, you will notice that (1) you talk too much, (2) get fixated on details before introducing the basic idea, (3) then you don't show. So going back to explain point 1, why talking less is appropriate: this is a tutorial and people are trying to grasp what is important. If you talk a lot, you get your audience confused. I had to turn off the audio. Secondly (point 2): as you go on and on about details, it takes forever for you to show what is the basic idea of the technique. You could show the basic idea, than after proceed to talk about the detais, you can even tell your audience in the begining that you are going to do that and that the details are important for this and that,.. but if you put the cart before the horses like that, it is very confusing. I had to put my muted video in the quickest speed, so I could finally see the braiding being done. Then, finally, going to 3, you never showed the result of your braiding, you showed the front of the loom all the time, and you showed a catalog. People want to see the result, so they can decide if they really want to learn what you are teaching. I hope I did not go too hard on you, I'm sorry for that, but I hope this can help you do better tutorials in the future. Treat tutorials like the writing techniques you learn from highschool, and they will be much better. Having said that, I'd like to thank you for the tutorial. I did learn from it, and I hope to see other tutorials from your channel in the future.

Thank you for your message. This tutorial was an interactive live chat with my customers to help them through lockdown, we added it to KZfaq for our customers not on facebook. I am however glad you could learn from it, we are a independent bead shop, here's a link to buy the materials I have used riversidebeads.co.uk/
