I would never pay a collector price for a surplus military pistol. I have a modern stainless steel Springfield Loaded 1911 & a Tisas duty B45acp and they work flawlessly with the new hot modern ammunition.

Cheap, prone to breakage, and they'll fire out of battery. Gas piston can be reversed to make them manually operated. They break scopes too.

It was a marketing failure. I was happy to pick one up when they blew them out sub $1k. I added a ShootingSite trigger (huge upgrade), the charging handle overgrip, cheek rest and the rail kit and it has been very, very nice. I just use Magpul Gen2 mags and it likes them as does every other gun. Beretta announce the rifle and then it wasn't available for several years after announcing it. Then it came in over $2k whaich didn't fly. Good rifle, bad marketing. I wish I had one of the .300 blackout barrels they promised but made so few of - but the 5.56 is fine. The biggest complaint was the trigger whaich was very heavy in the early rifles and closer to OK i later rifles but the aftermarket Shootingsite trigger really makes the trigger a positive rather than a negative.

I bought a Hi Point 9mm. I got heckled by one of the sales clerks at the gun shop when I picked it up. Dude was a real knucklehead. It was my first pistol chambered in 9mm. It runs reliably with fresh springs and broken in magazines. I experienced issues with it going into battery after 1500 rounds. I simply called Hi Point and requested new springs, and they were shipped to me for free along with a new magazine. I love my Hi Point.

For the most part this video is great. However, it is crucial never to drop a firearm, particularly when a round is chambered. Doing so risks an accidental discharge if the trigger gets obstructed by a foreign object, leading to an unintentional misfire. Learn to reholster the weapon properly. One to two seconds is insignificant in most situations.
