So I'm doing stuff in the garage, or a bit of gardening and this bloody unknown tune is always in my head. Then I realised it's your channel intro tune. Thanks for that Nat. Always enjoy your videos and see how your struggles keep me going as I engage with the self imposed struggles with my bike. I really do like your painting skills.

Them carbs look right tasty out of the ultrasonic. What are you using as cleaner fluid? I ran my VF carbs through in petrol (sealed in ziplocs) on the grounds that what I was cleaning off was soluble in hydrocarbons, and that a lot of cleaning solutions fuck up alloys in no fucking time whatsoever, but they didn't come out anywhere near as clean as yours. Had a flat on Ivan? The old pads look fine, a bit of copaslip on both sides and they'll be fine.

Bikes of Rye definitely gives me a vibe of someone wanting to be a full time "toober". I dont mind the content but sometimes his logical path just confuses me. I did stop watching Matt when he set his sights on Rye though. It started to feel quite mean spirited, and his viewers seem to revel in the "criticism" which feels at times more personal than professional.

Ryan's /only/ doing it for the money. He doesn't seem to really care about bikes, even though he's been riding for a while. He desperately wants to be an "influencer", and that's what his motivation is. I cannot emphasise enough how much I despise him and everyone like him. I've tried taking the little wanker on face value, I've tried giving him constructive advice. He Del-eats comments and doesn't take any of it on board. He simply doesn't care. He doesn't care about the result as long as it looks good and keeps the videos running, and he absolutely doesn't care about the underlying machine. Giving away a (badly bodged) blackbird? Sure, if it means we get more Patreon cash, more youtube ads, more sponsor wonga. Give away a shitty superdream? Yeah, sure the bottom end will die in the next six months if it's actually ridden, but who cares. That's an SEP, and it gets more hype. Cash cash cash is all that counts. So at this point, I wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire. For his new rental, I'm almost 100% certain he's been sacked out of his unit for "doing bikes" in it on the nice flooring, he wasn't undersized at all, it was all empty space. Unless he needed a real private space for doing onlyfans in, of course. I'm glad you're making something from youtube, at least. Covers the cost of oil and blue rag, amirite? And although I'm not helping you on that, being an overtly adblocking kent, at least I'm consistent - I advise anyone watching my own videos to use ad and sponsor blocking as well. Not that it actually impacts me, - I'm not eligible , but I promise will continue to do so even if youtube and sponsors start offering me money..

Tbh I dont think Ive ever watched one of his videos and thought it was his hobby. It has always felt like someone trying to make a new job out of it. The editing style and presentation screams it. Its a channel I watch on occasion so im not really into any of the details of what's going on. I dont dislike the guy though it must be said.

If you don't have specific data, as a rough guide, M6 bolts should have torque of around 8-11Nm, M8 21-28Nm, M10 35-50Nm. It may just be the camera angle, but if you look at the operating arm, near the bottom where the centring return spring is, it doesn't look like the stop is centred in the hole (which it should be), which means that you are getting less travel on the downshift stroke than on the upshift. Could the tongue on the arm, which locates the spring, be bent, putting it off-centre?

Hey Nat, refrain twiddling shafts, gears & knobs. Alignment marks are there for a reason upon complete assembly. Get yourself an oil can, stick in fresh motorcycle oil & pump away. It will drain but coat everything as it does when you start an engine. You need up the top end, byt not too much Good luck Edit: Nat, please get yourself a torque wrench. Nothing expensive.
