You should post a short another short saying the oldest subway cars in Active Service. Boston's Red Line currently runs 54 year old trains dating from 1969.

Man it looks so cool. I like how much space there is, it looks huge inside.
@Transport_International19 сағат бұрын
It is pretty big but the line is tiny at the moment so a lot of space isn’t used

Yes haha the technology is the same and I think the trains are literally just mark 1s. They also exist in Detroit however sadly like 3 closed now so you can only see them in Vancouver and Detroit.

I noticed on line C a part of the tram looks high floor with an accessible entrance sign on it, how would wheelchairs get on? Are the trams equipped with a ramp or a lift?
@Transport_International2 күн бұрын
What they do is they never operate a high floor tram alone. They will always be coupled with a low floor unit so people who can’t go up the stairs can still ride. I’m not sure why the high floor tram would have the accessible entrance sign but there is always a low floor alternative for those who need it.

When you revisit, you should do the silver line bus routes. It is a bus rapid transit network that acts like a subway between south station and silver line way

Unfortunately always no show when schedule time is up. Not so much reliable. And by the way as you can see in the video 8:32, 9:14, 10:47 and some other earlier occasions, stm quite often open doors when trains are not yet stopped, in fact sometimes still running quite fast. Last time I saw a nanny tripped because of this. I guess they don’t very much care about safety.

10:55 these are also the oldest subway cars in Active service. There are a total of 76 cars of these numberd 01500-01523 and 01600-01651 (76) these were manufactured by Pullman Standard from 1969-1970. These first ran on December 11 of 1969. These are currently 54 Years old and are still running to this day. Usually most people skip off talking about the train cars themselves.

You forgot the green line.That one is the most important because it was the first line out of the 4 and it is the first subway in the western hemisphere.Even though it is a light rail, you should count it because it’s the oldest and is still a subway even though it is at grade in some of its branches.
@Transport_InternationalАй бұрын
I fully agree with you, the green line is definitely the most important but in being the longest of the 4 T lines and also being light rail I decided it needed its own video which will be out soon.

Your map shows a junction station between Linea 1 and Linea 2, but, incredibly, there is no such station. Riders wishing to transfer between the two lines must walk 600 meters.
@Transport_InternationalАй бұрын
It’s set to be constructed at some point. The map I used comes from the Lima metro line 2 website. It is unfortunate though how It doesn’t exist yet on even line 1.
@tommarney1561Ай бұрын
@@Transport_International I'd really like to see a plan for that. If such a station is built, it'll likely require the closure of Gamarra station because it and the new station would be too close together. A poor country like Peru can't afford screwups like that. A rich country like mine can't, either.

I got here because of Planet Moose's video on Lima's woes with their public transit. Glad to see that Lima is getting their public transport infrastructures back on track. Need less people riding cars for commutes (traffic congestions into/out of the city), but allow for more social mobility across the board.

my main problem with Toronto’s subway is that shutdowns are so frequent and the lines are built around 2 streets. Busses are pretty slow and overcrowded. Tbh I prefer to drive even living in downtown
@Transport_InternationalАй бұрын
Yeah that’s very true. Toronto desperately needs more subway and some sort of revamp on the worst areas of line 1 and 2 to stop having weekend closures.
