If you listen to this song, there are no drums... Literally, Nick Oliveri is holding the entire beat together... Much together.... I think Queens are in the same category as Zeppelin or The Stones..... Pre 2003.... A Real Band is Indescribable..... And this was one. Show them their Flowers..... They deserve it..

One of my favorite songs of all time. Ten years ago, I wasn't even aware of Queens, Mark Langdon, Desert Sessions or any of Josh Homme's music, but by pure luck - or possibly divine intervention, a good friend of mine burned me a few CD's, that included the Them Crooked Vultures album, and a love story followed. Now days, I rarely listen to anything else. I love everything Josh is involved in, because his music is truly amazing! 🖤💯

“Hangin' Tree” was originally written by Alain Johannes and Mark Lanegan for a Desert Sessions album (which it was released on), but Mark Lanegan’s vocals apparently made it so good it was included on the masterpiece Songs for the Deaf. -From Genius. The Mark Queens Era is unbelievably good. Was always hoping Mark could come back and do tunes with them. RIP Mark
