Good luck with it mate, I'm currently trying to make a old bus live able to keep a roof over our heads as we can't afford the rent anymore combined with the cost of food etc here. Luckily I've been able to store and work on my bus at the bus depot I work part time. I think being mobile will be a good thing, specifically because of people like that chap, I don't like people at the best of times. And aussies seem to be getting more and more arseholes every day unfortunately.

Honestly Sydney once was a beautiful city unfortunately immigration is part of the problems that has turned it into a city to avoid....and this is coming from an Australian that has lived in the inner west for over 10yrs....there is no housing and because immigration is what is getting spewed all over the news has caused racial and cultural divide....Aussies are pissed off and at wits end everyone just bitter and angry all the time and often take out there aggression on others especially if it seems someone is doing better then them....It's no excuse for violence but unfortunately it's all going to get worse....Not until there is some decent relief given by our government that just left the door open.

in Melbourne (and most Australian metro locations) you can make noise that is not deemed 'unreasonably loud or disturbing' btw 7am to 8pm Mon to Thurs, 8 am to 11pm on Friday and Saturday, and 10am to 10pm on Sunday. And for example most construction noise does not fall into the 'unreasonably loud or disturbing' category, unless we are talking about generators and excavation tools, and they adhere to basically same hours as above except for starting an hour later and finishing a couple hours earlier

Half true if you are renting you can not its in your lease agreement that you cant. Also as a home owner council by laws also have different laws in noise and what yiu can and cant do from home. In many areas you are not allowed to work on vehicles from home. As for construction many need a permit so you can operate. If work is continuing yes council can have it ceased and fines issued. That doesnt guve the guy right to threaten or attack the guy making the noise though.

noise curfew in nsw is before 8am and after 10pm, you're literally doing nothing wrong! that dude is a entitled crackhead, just ignore him mate and keep doing what you're doing. You also wouldn't get deported for practicing self defense. you even have video proof that shows that fat idiot being the aggressor. Legislation Section 418 of the Crimes Act 1900 outlines when self-defence is available in New South Wales. Under that provision, the accused must have believed their conduct was necessary to: defend themselves or another person; or prevent or terminate the unlawful deprivation of their liberty or the liberty of another person; or protect property from unlawful taking, destruction, damage or interference; or prevent criminal trespass to any land or premises or to remove a person committing any such criminal trespass; AND the conduct must have been a reasonable response in the circumstances as the accused perceived them.

Mate get the hell out of Sydney its a rat race the more immigrants that arrive there every day means more people are living on top of each other causing stress and behaviour like that. Maybe move to a regional centre like the Central Coast, the Hunter or the Illawarra you will get pretty much the same advantages as you would living in Sydney without the overcrowding. You never know what you save on rent you may be able to spend on a property with a little bit more room to work on your bus.

@@ekspatriat difference between Sydney and Wellington is in the scale. Sydney already has a population similar to that of the whole of NZ. Immigration from places like India and China is out of control as are the number of people that are here on temporary student visas. The point I made was that if people want to live in Sydney its more likely they will run into that type of behaviour. People are being jammed in on top of each other and sadly it is only going to get worse..

Man, get some knee protetion! it will be worth it trust me... keep your health Regarding the neighbour its became really unbearable live in society especially in crinpped living condition. people are not nice to each other anymore especially in the western world. and I understand how difficult it is when you trying to make yourself a home and carry on but someone disturbing you. While indeed you distucring them with the noise because the houses in AU are crap and there is no proper sounds insulation in the walls so it leads to conflicts. my advice get out of sydney or be in more affordable place with less close neighbours

put bythel rubber tape on all sides of the sheet metal that will prevent leaks forever in addition to your sealant. on sides and under the sheet metal piece like a square. then you also wont need to use screws. as screws are another source of leak

I often wonder on the weather extreme days in Sydney, how on earth the construction workers cope, physically or mentally. We need these people’s skills and if Covid taught us anything, it’s the tradies and so many skilled and unskilled workers, that give the nations economy the ‘clout’ we all benefit from.

I was a shop drawer for AFS panels for over 7 years. AFS panels need to be 225 wide for a typical 3m high panel to get a safe handling weight of 22kg. This would be the size government projects would demand. They only got away with 1100 panels been installed by a single or two guys cause they mainly highed large kiwis. Not surprised you got hurt. Good call moving on. You gained experience, take that with you, there's always something better around the corner. Logistics organisation was a direction I was going to go, good sector, just be organised. You'll be right 👍

I hope this helps someone here regarding body health. Fat soluble vitamins A, D and K help alot. If you are looking to keep your endocrine system healthy and thus.. the body I would highly recommend taking 3-6ml per day of a blend of fermented cod liver oil and high vitamin butter oil. Focusing on the weston A price nutrient dense diet will at least support the body correctly while being flogged at work in many different ways. I know many of my mates in construction eat and drink shit - it all catches up , If we dont raise up this information about health and the wealth it can provide we will all be stuck in this physically abusive loop. Wishing you all the best.

I only do it now and then and when I do it its hard physical work, but only do it for the money. It was a wake up call. Now I will be doing remote work, using your brain and fingers typing the keyboard, and its more flexible. Change what your doing in an industry which gives you freedom and happiness. I take the easy employment. If you’re still cash obsessed, you can do shift work on a fork in a warehouse and rake in the dough!
