Every Taser sold comes with a Serpa II, how many ND's nave occurred? MY Agency actually mandates the purchase and use of the Serpa while carrying our issued weapon while in plain clothes. 16 yrs, same Level II and III Serpa's, never had an issue. And OMG... I live and work in a sandy environment. Actually wearing one right now. Any ND's or injuries are completely user error and anyone saying no to them has no experience with them and is just parroting the BS they've heard. They're one of the few that actually cover the entire trigger guard. Way too many ND's from gun grabs or children touching an Officers gun and sticking their fingers in there. New vid's are out, instructors are bringing this to students attention. Safariland my next go to choice. Y'all ever carried a triple retention reverse clamshell? 😮

Many ranges will not allow non law enforcement to wear holsters at all "No holsters" do to the danger of one shooting themselves or others. So one can say holsters are dangerous.

I use one with my Beretta 92fs, absolutely no issues. A longer DA trigger pull also works as a double safety feature. Striker fired, is definitely another animal.

My favorite holster. I've tried to purposely get my finger to go into the trigger guard, it ends up on the frame. It's people trying to draw faster than their skill level. You have to use tools properly.

I've got a serpa holster I use a lot, I press the button with my finger fully extended, like you would extend it to keep the finger away from the trigger when holding the gun normally... It's not rocket science.

The retention feature is critical for carry. Many people get knocked down in serious altercations. I don’t want my striker fire gun to go flying outward if I go down. If I go down, that gun is coming with me and staying with me with a Serpa. No brainer!

Thank you for the teaching and demonstration in this video because I own 2 serpa holsters and every time I look up a video on it All other guntubers wants you to hate the holster. I love this holster it does its job and does it right

Think about why the people who shoot more rounds than 99.9999% of people on earth tell you why to hate the holster. It might be because they know a little something they are universally hated, they are the only holsters banned by name in top level competitions. That means the people who train more than anyone else on the planet all universally agree that it is an unsafe design.

I don't do anything as expected.😅 I hit buttons with my thumb, knuckles, finger, palm... you name it.😂 Sometimes I knock on them.🤣 I like to be unorthodox and goofy.🤷😢 p.s. I can't believe you didn't cut one when she pulled the finger, that's a shameful once in a lifetime missed opportunity.

My finger always lands of the frame every time, no problem whatsoever. It is unnatural for me to curl my finger when I draw, but I tried drawing gun with my finger curled and it still lands on the frame nowhere near the trigger. So people must have bent fingers. Go figure, I really like this holster.

You can accidentally put your finger on the trigger too soon drawing from ANY holster. I have a Serpa holster and my trigger finger naturally goes to the frame when drawing.

Any holster that facilitates negligent discharges without use of proper technique is inherently dangerous. Competing designs don't have this issue regardless of whether your technique is good, so there is no reason whatsoever to even bother using such an inherently dangerous design in the first place.
@LawlessNate
@LawlessNate 11 ай бұрын
@@Philmoscowitz Some holsters do absolutely nothing whatsoever to facilitate that. Serpa holsters do, in fact, operate in such a way to facilitate that. You don't know more than shooting copetitions, law enforcement agencies, government agencies, etc.

So if you go down hard in a serious physical altercation you’re ok with the risk of your striker fire gun flying outward and potentially going off? I slipped on ice today and went down hard. There’s not a holster out there that would have retained my gun except a retention holster like Serpa. It’s all about tradeoffs my friend. LEOs are notorious for negligent discharges and that don’t have Serpa holsters so what’s your point?
@LawlessNate
@LawlessNate Ай бұрын
@@joerogan5433 Unless the gun is a Sig p320, then no strike fired gun is going to 'just go off' from an impact. Also, the issue isn't guns flying out of retention holsters. The issue is that to defeat the retention of a Serpa holster you must be applying pressure onto the holster with your trigger finger. As soon as the gun clears the holsters you're still applying force with your trigger finger, and then your trigger is dangerously close to the trigger guard. People can and have ended up pulling the trigger to discharge their guns simply because the holster design.

I own a Serpa for my Glock 19. It's my favorite holster. If you shoot yourself using this holster it is not the holster's fault. keep your dam finger out of the trigger until you're ready to handle business. Pay attention when you draw your weapon. This is a great level 2 retention holster. I have other ones, but this is my favorite cause it's really quick. Like any product human error is real. Pull the trigger gun goes off. That simple.

The best shooters on earth prep the trigger as the gun comes up. This is just an unsafe holster design. If you aren’t putting your finger on the trigger until the gun is on target, you are the one that has to train more. get a Safari land if you require a level two holster the only way that these are safe, is if you are running a double action gun.

Outstanding demonstration and explanation of proper serpa holster technique. The best I have seen. Thank you. As an instructor I also strongly refer everyone to the excellent little blackhawk instruction booklet that comes with each holster. It clearly details proper and safe use IF ONLY PEOPLE WOULD STOP AND READ IT. Again thank you for a great video.

Not only that but when people are trained but never was trained under stressful situations and draw and shoot them selves its because they grab the gun and with the fight or flight reflex hit the trigger. Also if you are open carry with the serpa you finger naturally goes to the button and now if you have to fight for control of the gun your finger is on the button while fighting for it. This video better explains it and demos all the things wrong with the serpa. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/l5-ofKmVqLyyf30.html
