I am a bit confused...Can you be a little more specific with the change that was made, (concerning your first comment below) about the breather bolts and what was switched from the initial install. Thanks in advance
@PatinaCode3 ай бұрын
Sorry it took me a bit to respond. I’ve been away for work. So , the breather bolts which are in the head is what the the tubes are connected to . The way that I had ran the lines to the catch can was backwards. The line that I had running to the filtered side of the catch can should have been the line going into the non filtered side of the can. The way that I explained the setup is correct, except for the way the I ran the lines into the can. Hope that helps , and again sorry for leaving you hanging.

Sorry it took me a while to respond. I’ve been away for work . No I don’t have a video for a manual transmission, but all the wires are the same. The only difference is the neutral safety switch. The wires are the same , the switch is just different.

How do you determine which wires go where? There’s nothing labeled.

If you watch all of the videos that I have up about this vehicles wiring , I explain where each wire goes. You also could get the wiring schematic book on the 1967 - 1972 c10 . They’re not expensive at all .
@scottstimpert94314 ай бұрын
I’m just a little confused. Because I have a 67 plug that has the dummy lights, but I purchased a rebuilt instrument cluster with all the mechanical gauges and volt meters and tachometer. But on that new printed circuit, the top half of the plug is totally separate from the printed circuit on the bottom half of the plug so it looks like I’m supposed to have a hot wire For the top half of the plug and another hot wire for the bottom half of the plug.

How do you get this bare metal so clean and shiny withou marks of a grinder?
@PatinaCode4 ай бұрын
I used a wire wheel brush attached to an angle grinder to get all of the old paint and rust off of the metal. Then started sanding with 60 grit all the way up to 3000 grit by hand . I done each panel individually off of the truck. I couldn’t use a block because the body has some dents and dings in it . By using my hand my fingers we’re following every contour, so that the sand lines would be consistent with the imperfections of the sheet metal. I also followed the same sanding lines as the previous grit.

@PatinaCode4 ай бұрын
I had no problem with this tilt hood kit. I will tell you this your hood and fender have to be lined up pretty good for it to work properly. With that said I had more trouble with standard position hinges due to the rear bracing on my hood where the hinges attach being a bit of kilter.

@PatinaCode6 ай бұрын
I’m glad that the videos have helped you and thank you for watching them. So the two green wires that go to the neutral safety switch are coming directly from the fuse panel. They are tied in series with the rear lights. The wires for rear lights are brown , yellow, green and light green and they pass through the floor , then run to the rear of the truck.

How did it work out in the long run? I've got a '67 C-10 StepSide, lots of bare metal. I live in wet, wet rainy weather. Is this my solution.?? Randy
@PatinaCode6 ай бұрын
It has held up well . The one thing that I can tell you is to be sure you apply it on a dry day with low humidity. If that is possible for you . Why that is important is because you don’t want to trap moisture underneath the coating. It will form rust underneath. I’m doing another truck with bare fenders right now and I plan on using it again on this truck. I’m in Missouri and we have lots of rain in the spring and summer and I’ve driven in everything but snow with that truck and had no issues with the coating. One thing about it is that if you do get caught in the rain , wipe it down once you’re home. If you don’t you’ll have real bad water spots and they’re a bitch to clean off. It will take a lot of rubbing. Other than that I like it and it has worked well for me . Hope this helps, and thanks for checking out the video. 👍🏽

Can you help..I have no blinkers...
@PatinaCode8 ай бұрын
I’ll do my best to help you . One of the main things to be sure of is to make sure that you have really good clean grounds . The other thing with testing for blinkers and braking lights is to be sure that you have a really good charge on your battery. Under the steering wheel there is a plastic ring where the signal switch is . Sometimes the brass contact’s get corroded. You can clean them up by using some sand paper. One of the last things is to check all the fuses . Also , check down the signal wires in the finder’s and bedside as well as the ones leading from the steering column to be sure that none are cracked or broken. Again the most common issue is that the system is not properly grounded. Proper grounds are good secured and clean grounds.

@PatinaCode The purple wire in the fuse panel has no power that runs to the little round flash thing. All the other lights work Emergency Flashers , parking lights, Break lights, headlights. All work.
@PatinaCode8 ай бұрын
@@davidolds1972 Sorry for the delay in responding. I’m just getting home . Ok , now that you’ve identified the problem wire that’s a start . You may have to trace that wire back on each end to make sure that there is proper connection regarding that wire. These trucks are old and corrosion is the enemy. All it takes is a little correction on the connection sites to cause a problem. Also make sure the fuse and flashers are good.

@@papergatorzfedducca7998 I don’t know everything about the wiring across the board on GM vehicles, but it is all just about the same . GM didn’t get crazy about changing things . They basically continued year to year with the same wiring schematic and then added on as things evolved. I had a 1977 Monte Carlo that I’d done and the wiring was pretty close to the 72 Chevy truck . The Monte Carlo did employ vacuum tubes to operate the vent ducts, but other than that the color of wires for different components were still the same . Just rember that most wiring issues are due to bad grounds and broken or frayed wires. A voltage meter ,test light and a good fully charged battery in the vehicle are your best friend when wiring a vehicle, or chasing wiring issues. Thanks for the subscribe.
