not only was this a thorough and well explained video, the reason I am here is bc I've moved into a house with the EXACT kitchen layout you used in the example 😅 Unfortunately the previous builders chose to go with curved shelve ( similar to the lazy susan but without any rotation option) so I'm pretty stuffed when it comes to storage space 😭😭😭 Nevertheless this video has provide me with helpful information that I can arm myself with when dealing with cabinet makers in the future! Thank you so much!

Tyring to install Ubuntu with btrfs file system on my 250GB took me about 4 days to format it and only 30% of the drive had been formated, then I just lost my temper and quited the process. I can't comprehend what happened. Then I decided to try again with ext4, but for goodness known reason it started formating the drive where the previous btrfs installation had been quited. That just killed me and I stopped my attempts.

It was a little flimsier than I expected. I had to add a 2x2 piece of wood to the bottom on the rear side in order to stabilize it better kzfaq.infoUgkxXTh-lz-8W6GcB219vTLp27-MxbZYObBX . It is also starting to bow a little at the outer wall ( I've had it up for about 6 months), I've already had a shelf tumble down because of the bow and the fact that the little shelf brackets are quite short. I went out to home depot and got some longer ones so that the shelves don't tumble down again. Overall, it looks very nice for the price and it holds a lot ( I use it as a pantry). I am very satisfied with my purchase. I just strongly suggest reinforcing it before putting it up.

If you have a vibration, I expect that means an imbalance. Have ypu checked for debris in the cooling fan behind the cord cartridge?

I'm now wondering - and hear me out 😆- about a _lift-up corner section of worktop_ concealing roll-out metal basket shelving on a (pneumatic?) sprung hinge system that lifts shelving for full access (a little bit like a sofabed). The lowest shelf housing things accessed less often so it doesn't always need to be lifted to full height. Pick out what you need and close the 'lid' again. Make it easy access by only storing large appliances on that part of the worktop on a tray - like a breadmaker so you can still use the countertop freely. But I'm neither an engineer, nor a kitchen designer... 😉

It's funny how so many can chase some complex and expensive method of getting to the last bit of the corner, and waste half of the space and access to achieve it. 😅
@realityandnaturepill
@realityandnaturepill 5 ай бұрын
This actually exists, the Qanto from Häfele, and as helmreichen states you lose about half the space for the mechanism. Additionally you get to spend 4000 dollars on a single corner, touch a button for 20 seconds to get access to the bottom shelf, not being abe to have wall cabinets above and a countertop that's visiually seperated.
@realityandnaturepill
@realityandnaturepill 5 ай бұрын
@@helmreichenterprises8391 There are two types of magic corners now; The one you show loses almost no space (theoretically...they make the second set of baskets too small) but you don't get easy access to the second part. Then there is one where the first part rotates or slides out of the way completely and the second part is a set of drawers. Easy access however you lose a lot of space in the corner, about 20-40 cm. I think there are two solutions, one for each. System one; just buy the mechanism of the second option, so the door slides or rotates out of the way completely, then attach planks or baskets to the mechanism that just fit in the cabinet (no drawers, just like the magic corner you showed)...still easy access and you lose no space at all. System two; the mechanism itself is great, you just lose a bit of space next to the set of drawers. You can attach planks or baskets to the mechanism next to the set of drawers (don't attach to a rail/sliding mechanism), ideally make these planks a bit higher than the drawers for easier access.

@@helmreichenterprises8391 Hi Michael, thanks for your reply which I've only just spotted when reading @realityandnaturepill's. I think my rather complex wondering (!) comes from living in a minuscule cottage kitchen, and now having to accommodate my elderly father who is losing his eyesight and has broken his hip. 🥴 He kind of needs to see things right under his nose or they don't exist for him, so I'm continually searching for innovations that help him to remain independent. He has a hardwood coffee table, with a similar robust pneumatic contraption inside which he finds very helpful so it's what made me wonder if the same principle could be applied in the kitchen.
@221b-Maker-Street
@221b-Maker-Street 5 ай бұрын
@@realityandnaturepill Thank you for this information. I took a look at the Qanto - I wasn't thinking of something anywhere near this sophisticated, nor electric, or that rises vertically like a lift, actually. More a simpler manual pneumatic mechanism that rises up and forward. I also hadn't pictured something that would impinge on any cupboards above. I don't really mind about the break in line in the worktop, though I know that would bother some people...

The reason the metal ones did not work is because you installed them incorrectly, the metal ones are basically a spring and can expand and contract ether from rotational force or pulling / pushing force, and so if you have a pretty fast Z moment it can cause the flexible part to expand and contract and this is more noticeable if you use z hop and so for these metal couplers to work the lead screw needs to be supported / fixed at the top mount both on top and under the mount so to stop the leed screw moving up or down but still being free to rotate, you get lead screw clamps spacers and bearings for this purpose

I use blender for 3d designing for print and not rendering. Does anyone know how to optimize cpu and gpu usage for tasks like merge by distance and decimating geometry and those types of calculation intensive tasks. I don't even need to worry about colored parts let alone photorealism. Just great advanced geometry. It doesn't look like it even uses the gpu when it calculates. I have a 3060 gpu but it doesn't seem to even be used for geometry tasks like limited dissolves or remeshes.

@@helmreichenterprises8391 windows 10 with an i5 11th gen and a 3060ti. As far as I understand unless you are rendering the gpu is not really used. But I model for 3d printing so all of my load is calculating maximum 3d detail into a mesh with no rendering of images or video. The only rendering is to the screen. I don't even retain cameras and lights or any colors when I work. All of the optimizing videos seem to optimize for rendering. Perhaps I just don't know the right terminology to find information on optimizing for mesh manipulation. At this rate I am better putting my money into cpu and ram than graphics card.

Filesystem should have "expanded" space used, meaning space used when all hardlinks are unfolded. If this approaches total partition size, fs can run into this situation, where it has no space to expand. Reminds me of dollar bubble too.

You misheard, he said vm he copied and then executed started writing into random blocks inside its own fs, causing host btrfs to write out full block copies. This doesnt happen with inplace fs because he would run out of space the moment he copied that vm.

@@danielhenderson7050 you are 100% correct, 100 years ago when I did this video printers didn't come with heated beds, and everyone was struggling. These days there are four main variables, heated bed, filament type, bed adhesion, and enclosures. Bed adhesion was dealt with by glue, tape etc. but now we have specialised bed materials like PEI, ceramics, etc.. I personally favour Zinc-alum coated steel with cross linked PVA, it doesn't break, is serviceable, and you can make your own. I have since printed over 100 kg of filaments, probably closer to 200kg. When I use ASA I have a favourite which is Spectrum brand, I seem to get the best results with that. My largest printer is now 600x600x600mm volume. Back then

Well this actually is an awesome filesystem. I use it with great confidence. I was actually asking BTRFS to do something impossible. The danger only occurs when you use a COW file (virtual machine drive "VDI") and you you duplicate it, and then run a VM depending on it. Virtualbox performs a new write, as well as BTRFS simultaniously. As I understand BTRFS more I now use it to provide self-healing bit rot protection as well as RAID redundancy.
