I was not a fan of U2 my nephew was a fan and first mentioned them to me. A couple I knew her boy friend was out of town so she asked me to go to the show. I went for my first U2 concert the night before on April 14th 1985 in New Jersey. I am a big fan ever since seeing this awesome concert. Thanks for posting this audio.

U2 had figured out MOFO at this point

I was there for this show. This was the third time I had seen U2. I saw them about 3-weeks before this show. I only went in to see U2 and Joe Walsh on this day. I saw Missing Persons only about a week before this show. A lot of these bands where doing shows in the South West United States at this time since they where in town for this show. The rest of the bands on this day I was not interested in seeing. Judas Priest was the best band at the US Festival. The Scorpions where a very close second.

I want Bree to watch this, and be told where I’ve been.

My first U2 tour! Saw PopMart at the Metrodome in Minneapolis. I was 17, the band were the size of my fingers and the acoustics were horrible. But the show was AMAZING!!! My favorite album and tour.

I discovered U2 from the King Biscuit Flower Hour , in 1980. Got the October album a year later , listened to it a million times. Saw them many times , in many states over the last fourty years , but these early recordings are truly my favorites.

How this version of Mothers of the Disappeared didn't make it onto Rattle and Hum is beyond me. Fabulous stuff!

I was there. This went out live through television to the whole country. That thing was not a concert. It was a mystical experience. I might not like much the work they did after the 2000s but Im pretty sure of one thing, that if ive seen`quite a few big bands since then and saw some other more when I lived in the States, this still will be the best concert I attended the day I die. It´s them, it´s the music, the spectacle, The Crowd and where Chile was at the time. Magic, real magic.

This is incredible. My first time hearing this version. Should have been released as a 12" or something. I love how much more forward his vocals are vs the released version. Geez. So much more going on in this one. So happy there's an alternate to listen to. Thanks for posting.
