The word black in Blackfoot don't mean Blackfoot are black people. Blackfoot is what others called them & it caught on Bcuz of having black moccassins, not that they are black🤣, but they're word for themselves isn't Blackfoot & they never say they are black ppl. They descend from ancient Siberian Asian just like every N.A. nation on this continent. Remenber what God said in book of Genesis 11:9 when He dispersed all nations at the Tower of Babel & gave every nation their own language: ["This why it was called Babel (the tower of Babel), Bcuz there the Lord confused the language of the whole world. From there the Lord scattered them over the face of the whole earth"]. Blacks were given their own Nigerian, Igboo, Congo languages & dispersed to Africa & N.A. were led to America with their own languages. Blacks are not Blackfoot & Blackfoot are not blacks, they descend from ancient Siberian Paleo Native Americans.

I’m sure I read that the Comanche also used four poles to set up their lodge. Even though I’m of European descent my heart belongs to those who lived on the plains.

49:50 the Archithinue is the Anglicized spelling of a nēhiyawēwin Cree word for a Blackfoot person, member of Blackfoot Confederacy or Niitsitapi which in Plains Cree "y" dialect is ayahciyiniw. Because Henday/Hendry came west from Hudson Bay area with a Cree guide, that Cree person most likely spoke with an 'r' or "th" Cree dialect or a blend of both dialects and it sounded like how it is spelled above.

You were actually using diagrams from "The Indian Tipi: its History, Construction, and Use" by Reginald and Gladys Laubin. That book is easily obtained from many bookstores and Amazon. It focuses mostly on the 3 pole based Sioux style Tipe, but does include Blackfoot, Cheyenne, and other styles.

Thank you for sharing these videos. My great-grandfather was Blackfoot and passed before I was born. His grandchildren didn’t learn his language or culture so I’m trying to find new ways to bring that back for myself and younger generations. These videos have been helpful context ✨💛✨

Blacks are not Blackfoot, Blacks descend from imported Sub Saharan Nigerian, Igboo, Congo African & speak those languages, given to them by God who gave every nation on earth their own languages. Youre proud of ancestors that are not even your ancestors.

@@BlackfootCrossing OK! warlodges: they picture was small and grainy it looked like it was just constructed with rough cut logs. where these weatherized or just ment to provide tempuary 3-6 day shelter and where just thrown together. was the design ment to be left and be found to intimidate or as a 'coup count'? family life: i couldnt hear the question and i think it was what i am about to ask. "so the house leader sat in the center when you open the flap. can you be certian his family was on the right and guest where on the left. from a security standpoint it makes sense but im wondering if there is a deeper cultural meaning im missing (when you dog/bow hunt you keep your friends on your right and your target on your left) the boy with the Beaver Bundle: you said he was ?8? and already treated as an adult when it comes to decision making. was there an age? a cerimone? was this an exception or was this common for 'children' to be given 'adult' responsibilities. i have Blackfoot Lodge Tales and there are stories where older braves run off youngers for not being ready to go out on an expedition. was this white washed history? or was war seen as a 'yoiu must be physically ready' so it had its own rules ov engagment? is there more yutube stuff? ive exhausted all documentaries and lectures on Native culture. my dyslexica makes reading hard but i hav eread several books and they are all starting to be white washed. i feel i will unlearn things rather than learn if i continue reading my present resources. :( 4: you kept mentioning 4 being the Blackfoot tipi pole number but all the pics and even the small example you showed had MUCH more than 4 poles. is the 4 poles the... anchoring/corner poles? and the others are support or did the model not match the lecture. Numerology: im facinated by diffrent cultures numerology EX:(bronze age Persia conted in base 12, when they where expelled by Rome who counted in base 10 it changed the world). i notice in all the Blackfoot stories i read/hear 4/7/9 being repeated often. i come in with an European and Semite understanding and do not want to muddy the waters. can you tell me if i am correct in seeing th enumber patterns and can you tell me what they mean in your culture? im writing a book and have sooooo many more questions. is there an email or something i could corispond with? my family is racist and i found a picture ov my dads moms dad in an old family album. they told me (in less kind words) that he he came to Indiana after meeting my dads moms mom while the family was finishing the railroad and moved east to be with the wife's family. he wasnt allowed in the family pictures or in the city because he was not christian.i dont know if its true, but as much as they hated him i wante dto learn more about him and hte people he left to be with a woman he loved to raise a family who hated him :(. thank you for replying. sorry im long winded.

Thank you so much Grant! You are an answer to a prayer. How? Been looking for info on Blackfoot Indians because my great grandmother was a full blooded Blackfoot indian. She died before my mother was born so we never knew her name. Can't track her or family because a fire many years ago. My grandfather was Russel Leroy Hoffman but do not know great grandfathers name either. So your as close as I can come to learn about my Indian herritage.
