I used to enjoy watching Hoddle's, Gullit's and Vialli's Chelsea under Bates. Stangely, more than the later Chelsea when we were more successful. Maybe because it made a change from years in the doldrums?

Terrible image quality, bloody inexcusable!! 🤬 Hughes was a Chelsea legend and that's how he'll always be remembered!

Paul is my all time Chelsea Hero, such a great player, and a very nice guy, have had the pleasure of inviting him to my School to talk about Racism in Sport, great day and evening spent chatting all things Chelsea. a player full of Skill and an eye for goal, how much would it cost to buy his talent these days,.

Chelsea's first season back in top tier, first game and their fans were excited about visiting Arsenal. The following season they brought around 500 to Highbury.

That team was going places, that injury, in my opinion, put us back 2 years. That was our best side since we got promoted in 83-84. At the time, I thought it was done on purpose. Seeing it again, nothing has changed my mind. How Cundy does shows with this prick, I do not know. PURE SCUM!

The player Souness bought to replace Peter Beardsley, what was Souness thinking ?
@roboi22415 күн бұрын
Souness bought a bunch of 'hard men' in his own image like Julien Dicks, Paul Stewart and Razor Ruddock. He seemed determined to turn Liverpool into a northern version of Wimbledon's crazy gang. I'm not sure if he tried to sign Vinnie Jones at some point. He managed to demolish everything Liverpool had been about since Shankly in just a couple of years just when Fergie's United were on the rise. Worst managerial appointment in history.

I didn’t watch football back then and more accustomed to see those people more mature. And it’s actually so cute to see Di Matteo with hair, and how petite Petrescu was… And that kiddo in the second row. Captain, leader, legend, who might’ve thought?

Honestly respect To Valdes For not just fouling Torres Nowadays, every keeper would take him out

This was filmed in 1969; Attenborough was rather reticent, in that Chelsea Football Club went on to win the FA Cup in the following year at Old Trafford, 1970. Also, Attenborough was talking about attending matches at Stamford Bridge in 1969, a few years before the giant new East Stand was finally completed, in about 1974. Back then, the only seating was in the ancient East Stand; plus, the seating and benching of the West Stand, in fact built on the giant terracing of the old West Terrace.

There's a worse angle than this one showing how deliberate it was. The first foul that went to court but wasn't found guilty by a court that knows nothing about football. Shocking crime unpunished and Saunders now gets well paid as a presenter on Talksport.

Yeah, shame no footage of the Burnley replay, a match in which Peter Houseman, who was outstanding throughout the cup run and scored 6 goals, played his finest ever game in a Chelsea shirt, scoring a solo effort where he ran almost the entire length of the pitch to score a goal which took the game into extra time. In extra time he teed up Tommy Baldwin who made in 2-1, then scored the 3rd himself. So many of these Chelsea legends sadly no longer with us, legends all.

The one thing I remember about this is that just about every Chelsea fan near me at the front of the Clock End joined in the almost compulsory round of polite applause for Pat Jennings as he took up his place in the goalmouth. Half-hearted perhaps, but no other goalie got a similar reaction. He nodded and raised a glove in acknowledgement. Best British goalie of the last 50 years?
