I have the same attachment foe my ash vac i use on my pellet stove except the bristles are a wire brush instead of plastic. Should work mint for doing my furnace. Isn't there a few other things like adjusting the fuel ratio and checking the co2 being released or something? And also ik you gotta use Chimney Sealant stuff, kinda like mortar around where the exhaust flue meets the actual chimney, also how frequently do i need to clean my actual chimney for my furnace? Idk if ive ever seen my plumber do that, he has however cleaned the exhaust flue that goes from the furnace to the chimney. And last question, also how do you adjust the oxygen ratio and air intake vent? Is there anything you even have to do there and if so how frequently?

Thanks for the detailed video.....I just purchased some Beckett electrodes and they along with the old set have what looks like a butt connector to attach the length electrodes ends to match the others. The instructions don't say to crimp them or anything

I am not sure exactly what you are referring too. I know the electrodes come in many different designs. Most of the ones I run into, I cut to length or screw them together and then cut off excess. Some I am able to get the exact lengths. I know there is one type that I have come across that pushes together. I am sorry my reply is not much help!

@furnacetech2581 no apology necessary. I appreciate any advice. These electrodes have two lengths of rods that have a metal "coupler" that does push on but its very loose. I figure you're supposed to crimp them to make tighter? The old & new set both have the same "coupler". If this helps any, let me know your thoughts. Thanks

A question for you about bearing noise. I have a two-year-old furnace, and I'm hearing some pretty bad-bearing noise coming from around the fuel pump. At this point it's intermittent. I thought originally it was coming from the blower motor but upon closer examination, it's coming from around the Motor or the fuel pump. I'm assuming there are several bearings in and around the motor and fuel pump. Which do you think would be most likely to fail after just a couple of years? I've actually had furnaces 10 plus years old and never had bearing issues before, but this noise Is fairly loud and can be heard from 10 feet away.
@furnacetech2581

I would remove the coupling between the blower and the fuel pump and test the blower motor. See if the noise goes away or not.

Does the higher voltage of the igniter improve combustion? Does it tax the ceramic insulation of the electrodes?
@furnacetech2581

Stronger spark which help to ignite. The combustion is improved by adjust the fuel and air mixture using combustion tuning equipment. As for the electrodes, not 100% sure and every system is different because the controller may or may not turn off the spark after ignition had been established! I hope this helps!

Hi there great video . I have a question because it getting cold and my furnace is not working. I have air comming out of the inlet filter on the side of the blow motor . Does this mean the motor is running backwards? The air is comming out of the filter where you adjust the air flow going into the burner head it that makes sense . My burner is a Beckett . I furnace runs but not well . I have changed everything from the control unit , nozzle,new igniter box. I thought the air was supposed to go into the burner head from the side where the adjuster ring goes. Should I change the direction of the blower motor ?

It's been a couple years since I did this, but it would have been nice if they had put a note/warning with the pump that it was full of oil. Made a bit of a mess. I also had to put the pump in a vise and use a breaker bar to get the plug out for the fuel line. Made in France I recall. Has run like silk since putting the CleanCut pump with solenoid to replace the previous.

Yes, if you isolate the supply and return lines, you can slowly loosen the old plate. Place a bag or something to catch the fluid. Take your time because it can have a bit of fluid trapped in the lines.

As soon as I turn on the boiler there is a call for heat, even though the heating is off at the program box. The hot water works normally just the heating is messed up. Do u think just replacing the metal box would work to fix the heat so it could be called when needed?

The first thing I would check is the end switch. If the end switch is closed, then the boiler will get a signal to run the pump. Some boilers will turn on just to maintain minimum temp.

Yes, there are a couple ways. Turn the thermostat off in that space, then remove the zone valve cover and take a screwdriver to see if you can move the linkage to free it. I have just replaced my Honeywell motor head. I must have an older style as there are no screws holding it to the valve body. It is only held on with a wire clip.
