Hi I am half way through your Polly haul video and not sure if anyone has told you, comments are switched off there so I've come here. The yellow and pink wigs aren't broken they came with the mall playset with the moving escalator and the round bits at the back are because the doll they were made for had her hair tied in a little bun so she could wear wigs, if you get the doll dressed as a nurse with the bun in her hair those wigs might fit her. Also the blonde is Polly, ginger is Lila, poc is Shani, blonde boy is Rick and the brunette boy is Todd :))

Hi there! What bag do you use to boil her? I only have bags that would melt in boiling water :(
@littlepuffxo2 жыл бұрын
Hi hun!! I used some regular Ziploc bags but they're the thicker kind, and I didn't have any issues with plastic melting! I'd actually recommend waiting to boil wash the hair until a full 24 hours have passed to ensure that the glue in their scalp dries completely before you do the boil. I only used the plastic bag and did it that way because I was too impatient and I wanted to see the final results without waiting another day for the glue to dry 😅 it worked out for me but I'd say it's better to be safe than sorry 💗 I haven't watched this video in a while so frankly I can't remember if I fully boiled the water before placing her in it or if I just got it hot enough to remove the creases from her hair, which was the goal. So even just really warm, not quite boiled water should do the trick!

Hi again! I posted a comment a few years back. And I have been doing better with my misophonia! However, I'm noticing that whatever sound my mom makes even it's as small as clapping her hands together to scraping her teeth against her fork. It bothers me. And my list mostly comes from her. Tbh, we don't really have a good relationship so I'm wondering if that's a contributing factor. Because of the list, it's hard for me to be around her. And I wonder if there's more to it than just Misophonia.
@littlepuffxo2 жыл бұрын
Hi again Oliver! I'm glad to hear you've been doing better with it 💝 so I know EXACTLY what you mean. My mom and I are similar, we don't have a great relationship and I find that she can trigger my misophonia more easily than other people. It's very strange, it's almost like I have *some* control over it, like when my bf falls asleep on the couch next to me and snores, somehow I'm able to withstand the snoring for up to a couple hours. I just distract myself with my phone and the snoring doesn't trigger my fight/flight response. However, it would if it was night time and we had to share a room. My misophonia seems to affect me the most at night when sounds can interrupt my sleep. That's when I'm sent into a panic and the fight/flight response is activated. Sorry for the long comment, I think it's good to discuss things like this because misophonia is so misunderstood and not well-studied yet... I think that our feelings towards certain people can have an effect on the severity of our misophonic responses. My mom can set it off just by mispronouncing a word (when she says "milk" but pronounces it as "meowk" hard to spell lmfao) it triggers a misophonic response in me. Or the way she chews her food, when normally I am not triggered by most other people's chewing noises. I have read in a recent article (I'll try to find it again and link it here for you) that misophonia might be linked to ASD (autism spectrum disorder) which I am inclined to believe because of other compulsive habits and behavioral traits I experience. I will try to find that article for you, I read it a couple weeks ago!
@littlepuffxo2 жыл бұрын
This isn't the article I mentioned (still looking) but this is a very interesting one about a recent breakthrough with misophonia research: www.scientificamerican.com/article/misophonia-might-not-be-about-hating-sounds-after-all/# I've noticed that I mock my trigger noises as well, when someone next to me is breathing really loud I feel an urge to mimick the sound but exaggerate it, I'll sigh really loudly. I assume I'm trying to get the person to notice that they might be breathing loudly, but maybe I'm just trying to cope by mirroring the sound that's triggering me. Idk if you've had this experience as well but it's a very interesting find!
@oliver78282 жыл бұрын
@@littlepuffxo No worries about the long comment! I am honestly amazed that you could listen to snoring for a few hours! Even distracted, no matter who it is it triggers my fight/flight right away. Like one day, I was sharing a hotel room with my aunt and she was clicking her nails which is my BIGGEST trigger and I yelled at her and started crying. I was so angry and told her what happened and she apologized. And yes I agree! I think relationships with people can definitely affect how we react to certain for instance. When I don't like someone my list tends to grow a bit bigger. But when I like someone unless I'm deliberately looking for something nothing really adds to my list. However, I noticed that if they make any of the triggering noises I try to avoid them or I feel a bit uneasy around them. And I will definitely read that article thank you!
@littlepuffxo2 жыл бұрын
Ughhh I know that feeling, when you're so frustrated and overwhelmed and you lash out on people who can't truly understand what it's like 😩 I do my absolute best to avoid situations in which I'll react like that, haven't had a sleepover or shared a room with anyone since probably middle school. When we travel anywhere we look for Airbnb's so that I'm guaranteed a room. I think the love I have for my bf can override the misophonia response but only in very specific scenarios. Night time is a no no, something about the lights being off makes me react more strongly to the triggers. Do you happen to listen to ASMR? I've been wondering if there's a connection between misophonia and ASMR because it would seem like the reactions to trigger sounds are complete opposites. I actually enjoy ASMR, soft-spoken and tapping, but if someone is breathing heavily or swallowing into their mic I can't do it. Just wondering if you have a similar experience there. Sometimes, very rarely, I'll hear a trigger sound (such as breathing) and for the 1st few seconds of noticing that sound, I'll experience an ASMR response... But once my mind starts isolating the sound it turns into the misophonic response. Very very strange.... Maybe there's a way through cognitive therapy or hypnosis where we can rewire our reactions to trigger sounds and experience ASMR responses rather than the fight/flight. Who knows. I'm so glad you commented, I don't get to discuss this stuff enough because I just hate the looks I get from people when I try to explain what misophonia is. 😩 I hope you're finding good coping skills to deal with your triggers, I always worry that my list will get longer and longer as I age and it's terrifying to think that someday I'll be forced to live alone in a cabin in the woods, away from society entirely. Although sometimes, that does sound pretty nice...
@oliver78282 жыл бұрын
@@littlepuffxo I totally understand. And yes I do listen to Asmr. Especially like cooking/gaming, it helps me relax and feel safe. There was a point in time where I intentionally listened to my triggering sounds to see if I could find a way to calm down. Instead, I ended slamming my computer shut and crying myself to sleep. But on a less depressing note lol now I just pinch myself whenever I feel triggered or put on headphones. I also learned not to be ashamed to just cover my ears in front of people. And I totally understand not having anyone to talk to about these topics because I also struggle with that. Kind of the reason I decided to comment again! A cabin sounds nice...but a small beach house with no people and hot weather sounds amazing.
