Are their great white sharks in the area of the Golden Gate Bridge? I remember seeing a video from an Alcatraz tourist boat of a seal being eaten by something huge.

I'd jump in there with you. So many people in the comments acting like this is so dangerous is funny to me. I get that there is some risk and that not everyone is a confident swimmer. I would need a ladder though, I'm not s fit as you : )

Great series of videos. But frankly you scare me. You need to take an Inflatable Lifejacket serious. keeping it attached all the time . unless its dead calm and the boat is not moving. could you imagine a rouge wave catching you unprepared and pitching you over the side.
@Routesofchange

I’ve experienced rogue waves on the ocean before and quite frankly I’m glad I was not attached or wearing a life jacket. I feel more able and secure being free to move without the possible restraint of a life jacket. I may not be an expert sailor but I am confident in my ability to stay on board. Some sailors are more comfortable on the dock or on a couch. Many round the world sailors are retired alcoholics in their 60’s and 70’s. I’ve got a leg and a peg up on many of em! I can imagine a world of endless possibilities and it does not scare me. 🤘

Did you know to sail prior to your world journey or was it learned from the other gentlemen while on the leg to the hawaii.

I learned to sail as a child from my dad on simple small boats and watching him sail a very similar boat to this, but most was learned from my friend, the boat, and the ocean on this sail.

What month did you leave for Hawaii? The Pacific is usually calm. I want a Cape Horn, the Canaduan man who designed it was an extremely interesting man. He sailed naked to avoid "boat butt". People don't talk about what happens to the skin and body in general when we are out at sea for extended tines. Being crusted in salt all the time is a challenge. Carrying enough freshvwater is also a challenge. But I prefer being on the ocean everyday.

We left at the start of May. I never found the salt to be too much of a problem but I have experienced some of the worst boat butt while rowing on the ocean...
