All great suggestions. You all should try Lowes Wharf. Not really a marina or even a town; more a large bar and restaurant, but has mooring balls, water taxi and you can also anchor. Its a nice protected cove and is a really good time with good food, normally a band, volleyball court and you can swim in and around the area.

Good decision. We purchased a 2006 Chaparral 350, in 2013. The carpet needed replacing and we went with the same style of carpet at that time. 10 years later we wanted to change again and decided to go with the woven style. We are very satisfied with it.

You need Premium but it’s easy.. Open a route or track to view the details, tap the dots in the upper right corner and select Export as GPX File. You can email it to you or choose other options to export the file. How you import it into your Chartplotter depends on device type.

this is a good app but it absolutely murders your battery. I thought it was maybe just my older iphone 11Max pro phone but after upgrading to the 15 Max Pro I still have the same battery drain. I'm not sure why this app draws so much more power than say other navigation maps like google maps etc. I'm still within cell phone range as I'm just using it on southern CT along Long Island sound. It's not a showstopper since I have a 12v charger on the dash but it's not clear why the power draw.

My AC has a dehumidifying setting on it which is what I use. It comes on every 3 hours and lowers the temperature 2 degrees which takes all the moisture out of the boat. It also prevents that damp smell you can get. If I do leave the AC on I set the thermostat at 80 degrees when I am away from the boat. I also check my fittings on the system anytime I am in the engine compartment.
@MyBoatLifeАй бұрын
That sounds like a good plan! We raise our temp to 77 to keep it just cool enough but it doesn’t need to run a lot. Checking fittings is just good practice for sure.
@echozulucruisingАй бұрын
I leave ours on, when I am in town. I get terrified of pump fitting failure if am not checking every 48 hours.
@MyBoatLifeАй бұрын
We’ve been doing it this way for years & most boats on our dock do as well. Never heard of anyone ever having an issue. Keeps boat dry, and A/c doesn’t have to work as hard cooling it down every time we come back. And then of course our fridge is on too.

Where im from it would be unthinkable to have a petrol inboard. But the main reason comes down to cost of fuel. Petrol is a good 50% more expensive than diesel. That in combination with higher fuel burn makes them quite unfavourable. The rule of thumb here is that if you use your boat less than 40 hours a year, petrol ends up cheaper due to lower maintenance costs and price of purchase. But pretty much every petrol boat would be an outboard.

I never thought to leave the AC on when we leave the boat to assist the fridge. For some reason, I'm more afraid of something bad electrical happening with the AC than I am concerned about destroying the fridge. I'll have to think about that a bit. Thanks for the prompting.
@MyBoatLifeАй бұрын
For us protecting the fridge is more important and we have been running our AC during the week for years with no issues - also keeps boat dry inside to run AC (which is equally as important) and obviously cooler when you arrive at boat in middle of hot summer.
@eternitysshoreАй бұрын
My concern is drawing water into the boat to cool the AC while you’re gone. Having an active thru hull on makes me nervous while away from the boat. Obviously you haven’t had any issues. And in each scenario one has to consider the risk reward factor.
@MyBoatLifeАй бұрын
@@eternitysshore if electrical issue the A/C would stop working, and something catastrophic like a hose going bad causing the boat to sink is a pretty rare scenario tbh - if you had a leak in your bilge you’d catch it with pump going on - and there’s lots of reasons to keep air on - dry boat (less mildew, smell), maintain life of fridge, a/c doesn’t have to work extra hard to cool down a overheated boat every weekend - most boats on our dock have it on all week.
@everythingreviewsandnews12297 күн бұрын
To add. Regular inspections of thru hull and hoses will definitely instill a little confidence in the system. We also leave our AC on all summer, checking regularly of course.

My vacuflush wouldn't stop pumping. Even with new everything including the switch. Finally I discovered that the waste tank vent was clogged. The tank was becoming pressurized and the pump could not make enouh vacuum. Once cleared it worked fine. Now the ball doesn't move with the pedal. Next I'll pull it apart. If its a major problem we're going to a composting toilet.

Just found your channel. Have a 2000 Sea Ray 380 with CAT 3116 diesels. Have it at North East River Yacht Club in North East, MD. Plan on taking this boat places, so I ruled out gas engines in my search. Removed both engines and took them to T&S Marine in Crisfield MD, one for an overhaul and the other a full service. The torque of the diesels is great for moving the boat around at idle and just using the transmissions for steering.
