Subaru should've made an Outback based truck years ago, with a manual gearbox

The Crostrek's direct Toyota competition is the Corolla Cross, which does have a very fuel efficient hybrid engine, but can't be mentioned in the same sentence as the Crosstrek when it comes to off road ability

There are 24 reasons why you should buy this car, if you can afford to, this is the most realible car brand in the entire world, and the base model comes with extras that you would have pay for on most other cars, it is not the car for you, if you want to race, but if you want to get where you're going in comfort, There is no other at the same price point. Oh and a New Lexus come with 10 years or 100,000 miles in the U.K. beat that if you can.

What a load of bullshit, most of it irrelevant or hopelessly out of date, he does not know what he is talking about. I have an XV, the Australian version of the Crosstrek. 10yo and nothing done to it apart from new tyres and battery. I just ordered a new Crosstrek. Does everything and has everything I need.

Toyota may as well sell the proven Toyota Hilux in the USA. That is a proper truck with body on frame with a 2.4/2.8 diesel available.
@johntheaccountant559414 сағат бұрын
If you are using a pick up truck as a pick up truck; then it has to be "body on frame" and not uni-body. The engine should be a diesel for torque and reliability/maintenance costs and not be hybrid.

If you want an updated 'infotainment system buy another brand. The 2024 Rolls Royce uses the rotary knob control and does the Bentley. Buy another car brand. The requirement to have the car stationary to use the touchscreen should be mandatory in all vehicles. Touchscreens are clumsy and unpredictable taking the driver attention form the ROAD. 50 year old suspension? How old do you think the 4 stroke engine is? It isn't compulsory to buy a Mazda 3. Plenty of other choices.

Wrong! CVT is not as good as a traditional good designed 6 speed transmission, it sure cost less to make for menufactory!

Reason #8: no third pedal. I remember the Legacy GT Wagon w/3 pedals; great times... also, don't buy a base trim Subaru; any base trim Subaru. Start at Premium and go up. Limited seems to be where it's at (or in the case of the Ascent, the Onyx trim).

OK, fine. So the breeders get their 4 door family truckster. Nice. Now, can you bring back the Brat just as a 2 door for the rest of us please? If you make it electric, it won't have to have soo many frigin' doors in order to meet our stupid gag-me CAFE standards. A solar bed cover would top it off nicely.

Just read all the comments here. Clearly the audience who actually own this car love it and consider your review as uninformed bias. I own this car and couldn’t be happier with my choice.

My 2024 2.5 S Select non turbo gets 33-34 mpg on the highway and 27-29 city legit. His criticism doesn’t wash in real world driving. I don’t see a lot of Rav 4’s, Sportages or CRV’s towing anything around. In fact, I never have. Who cares? The cabin is quiet. Drive a CX 5 and then a Rav 4….’nuff said. I don’t care about hauling cargo or people around. It has enough space to do the basics. It’s a freakin compact SUV. Fact is, the difference between it and the others is minimal. If you want space, buy a bigger SUV. The interior is hands down stylishly luxurious compared to the competition, some of which are out and out clunky. Lastly, drive the others and save the CX 5 for last. No comparison in the “fun factor”.

Let me tell you first hand and counter everything you've just said! Power train: For being a 2l it's surprisingly quick being only 1380kg. With fuel economy at 5.9l per 100km. Hybrid engine: Doesn't need one with the economy it achieves. However hybrid is available on the next generation. Fuel economy: Is actually fantastic with smaller engine but low vehicle weight. Interior: For the price this is incredible quality. Comfortable seats and ride, leather steering wheel, plenty of space. Stylish inside and out. Desirable features: If you want Desirable features you'll be paying the price for them it's not like kia has you in a choke hold. Base model still includes some fantastic features. Towing: Still has a decent towing capacity but who uses trailers these days. Overall the ride is comfortable and economic. I'm an engineer and I've got plenty of storage space around the spear wheel to keep the boot clean for my larger parts and tool box. All I can say is unless you've got the Seltos you'll never truly understand just how good it is for value and unfortunately I think that went straight passed this reviewers head...terrible review

I purchased a ‘23 RX non hybrid for my wife (replacing her ‘19 ES350). I agree with the safety nannies pointed out here and is one of the main reasons I did not get the LX for myself. The mpg is solid on the non-hybrid (for a mid-size) calling it mediocre is a bit out of touch. Guess this reviewer will never own an SUV made before 2020, lol.

My 2009 Mazda 3 with 330.000 km still goes like a rocket. There is two more Mazdas in my family with similar high mileage and with zero defects so far. You just can't brake Mazda. Currently I'm looking for a new vehicle, and guess what I'll buy?

My guess is the Celica 2.0 is the “replacement” for the Supra 2.0 that just ended manufacturing. The current mk5 Supra 3.0 ends its run in 2025, ending the relationship with BMW. I’d bet the mk6 Celica Supra debuts in 2026/2027 with a 3.0 turbo, bringing the Supra brand back in house to Toyota…hopefully with Gazoo’s assistance. Not sure what this means for the GR86.
