This was my best friend's favourite NMA album (well it was between this and Thunder & Consolation, but we never settled the question). He passed away unexpectedly just over a week ago - I shall have these two albums on repeat probably forever now. If I am allowed to keep any of his things, it'll be these vinyl albums. Goodnight K <3

Dundee, Jordanstone School of Art in the early 90's, listening to The Stone Roses and The Charlatans, 3000 miles away from home, thinking everything was possible...those were the days!

First heard this in about 1989-'90. On WQFS radio, Guilford College, from my home in King, NC; I was 15 yrs. old. I'm 49 now, still think it's a great LP. One of the best....

I was just into American college/ Indie when this came out. Didn't see what the fuss was about. The Flaming Lips did a tribute to the album. I love it from start to finish. The old SR fans dig the boots into it pretty much but made me go back to the original. No songs to skip through. Just put it on. I haven't turned it off in 2 months.

First time in Düsseldorf 1999 i was introduced to Stone Roses from my Irish friend. She adore them. And she was right...this album is legendary...i watched Ian Brown live at Exit festival, Novi Sad, 2004 i think. Was a nice experience.

A great band. I remember being at Reading rock with my brother drinking at a pub when there came a growing sound that grew louder then I realised it was the sound of clogs coming from the train station. The Northern Army had come to see the band play reading. It must been 86 or 87. A cross between The CLash and Goth. Dark and Political.
