AMERICANS, send your 4 speed, big blocks down here to us “OZZIES” (not ossees). I paid 40k for my small block roadster.

Hi, love your presentation’s but PLEASE stop lifting the hood by the corner wingtips. The hoods are heave and are prone to snapping when repeatedly lifted there.👍🇦🇺🦘

Nice condition, good price! Not my fav. color but with a quick wrap that is an easy fix if the surface is smooth, no chips...

Just some helpful hints to add to a great video CA glue is a lure makers best friend. We use it with baking soda. You would build up a blob on the end with baking soda & drip the CA glue on the baking soda. Watch the fumes but it will create a solid connection like a plastic weld. I think you’ll find you’ll use it for many plastic repairs 👍 Hope it helps With cutting a loom you could stagger the cuts so when you do the final wrap you don’t get a bulge in the loom but you did a great job & don’t see any. Like I said, great video with awesome info for C3 owners. Your doing a wonderful service 😁👍

Saw a guy on KZfaq that paid $30 for a trans pan gasket. It split and started leaking after a few weeks. Most folks say use Rtv all around the pan surface. Some say on pan surface and top of gasket. And some say no Rtv at all. I think it comes down to whatever works for the individual.

The 1975 Chevrolet corvette stingray though less power as the model was and boy there were a lot of coupes that year. The convertible is keeping its great value for sellers nothing like the chrome bumper C3’s but the next best thing. 4629 only made that year and being it was the last year of the C3 convertible and no convertible for a Vette till 1986. Also Zora Duntov retired that year the father of the corvette. That added some mystique of big changes were coming later for corvette.

Off the subject, but have you had any issues with trans. pan leaking? I’ve heard 10 different opinions on RTV. Use on one side of gasket, on both sides, none at all, spray adhesive, super glue, gray, black, red, etc, etc, along with all the different brands. Thoughts?

No. Both my cars are 4-speed manuals 🤷🏻‍♂️ RTV is great for many applications but first you have to determine if your transmission pan is in good condition. If the sealing surfaces are deformed, I would start by fixing that.

@@76vette I’m trying a new aluminum pan that has a flat smooth surface all around. Replacing a steel pan that was straight with no issues but they have a raised ridge that runs along the middle of the mating surface and I was having a small leak. Not sure if it’s caused by the pan, gasket, Rtv, torque, or all the above. Will know in a few days.

Good luck. Btw, I usually apply small dabs of gasket maker or weatherstripping adhesive to valve cover gaskets to ensure they’re lined up and keep them in place during installation. You may want to for the same for your transmission pan. And buy the best gasket you can find. It will be worth the money. 😊👍🏻

As with many things in life, Cars especially acquire more “Mystique” the older they get, I’m old enough to have lived through the great Muscle-car era. I have owned my first C3 ( ‘70 454 4spd) which I bought in ‘71.The car was fun, but wasn’t particularly well built , in fact compared to my ‘07 C6 Conv (purchased new) the C3 was a pile of (leaking)Junk. Foremost, let’s not forget those cars are now 50+ yrs old. Here’s a spoiler alert, cars don’t get better with age. Not even mentioning NOS availability.

Did you ever have cooling liquid at the same spot like that in your video? What would the cause might be?

Haven’t had that happen, but if you’re experiencing such an issue my guess is that the intake manifold gasket is to blame.
