I think you might have the wrong length springs. That shackle angle doesn't look right
@AdventureTEQ
@AdventureTEQ 5 күн бұрын
What do you mean? If anything the shackle angles would be more close to a 45° angle 📐 if it were perfect. Meaning the springs would be longer. But, being heavy duty suspension, when loaded up super heavy, the shackle achieves closer to that angle. Please tell me you’re not building suspensions with vertical shackles. Because that’s the way you guarantee the roughest ride possible! Basic suspension geometry.
@rickyrogers5729
@rickyrogers5729 3 күн бұрын
@@AdventureTEQ I agree it should be closer to 45. Those springs must be designed for some constant load then.

Arguably the mostly reliable 98hp ever made. 😂 I've had several trucks from an 83 to a 92 and wasn't nice to them and they never let me down. One pieced together, factory turbo version was the most fun. 😁

@AdventureTEQ A friend of mine and I used to haul some scrap and got an engine from one truck and a turbo and computer from another. It was fun for a couple months until it developed a major knock and I had to swap back to the regular 22RE. A rusted out 4wd 85 Xtracab going over 90mph was a little sketchy anyway. 😂

Quick question, at the end when you were talking about how your wheel was turned one direction too much. Why did you turn the steering wheel? Shouldn't the steering wheel have been locked at dead center? Also, when I get the new steering rack, do I have to make sure it is dead center or does it come locked at dead center ready to go back in assuming the steering wheel is at center?
@AdventureTEQ
@AdventureTEQ 16 күн бұрын
Hi! Sorry for the delayed response. Great questions! First: I can’t recall why I turned the steering wheel, but it probably had to do with me trying to confirm to myself that it went so far one way or the other… or perhaps I just rotated it while I was inside for some reason, wasn’t sure which way it needed to go back to be originally centered, then just went the wrong way in my attempt to center it. I don’t recall! Wait! I think it’s because I needed to rotate it in order to get the one side more extended than the other, in order to facilitate ease of rack removal, and then probably forgot to get it back centered… But just be sure to keep track of where you move yours and return it to locked and centered! Second: I didn’t trust the manufacturer to have it centered when delivered. So I rotated fully in both directions before installing, while taking measurements as to each end’s travel, and then centered that accordingly just before install. Good luck! 🍀

Thanks man! One of my motors took a crap after a month! Got the warranty motor back, no instructions, nothing, but the motor and hardware. Anyway, thanks dude, I took it apart easy enough, but the KEY, was cycling the motor to match the screw holes,,, that sucked, and it would have taken me for forever to figure out, still took about 15 minutes. I was installing it with the step down and the door OPEN, with the motor cycled down,, Magic I can't thank you enough!!!! 🤙🤙🤙

Got one ..its great I use a 200w sola panel ..folding type not expensive brand with a 120 amp 5 year old gel battery and I runs great..sunset 12.9 or more morning can be down to 12.2 but in half a hour after sunrise battery is back to about 12.4 and goes to 12.9 or more in about 2 hours even on overcast days with patches of sun and shade ..not sure of total cloud cover all day for a few day cos it hasn't happened to me yet ..I use it for several months each year in heat range 25 to 40 + and no trouble if I'm shifting camp I fill it with water bottles if half empty cos mass hold cold better than air and cool it to the temperatures I us and it stays frozen for at least 8 hours maybe more but 8 is about as long as I travel...I set the freezer at - 18 and fridge at 6+ ...great machine love it so far...was using gas fridge and dident want to take a chance on electric but great sola blanket is light and no gas bottles to carry..good luck

I’m learning that my beloved 2016 tundra has a crappy cargo capacity, which I also learned recently includes driver, passengers any luggage, etc. I have a fiberglass cap as well, and a bedslide. My camper is 3,000 ponds under my tow weight capacity but just unstable when pulling the camper. I installed airlift 5,000 but so far, doesn’t seem to fix my dilemma. I’m going to try different air pressure to see if I can dial it in.
@AdventureTEQ

How high is your airbag pressure? My 7,000 lbs camper trailer (loaded) tows nice and true. I do have a load distribution hitch for that trailer. Helps a lot. I also haul a 14,000 lbs capacity trailer and have loaded my 8,500 lbs Land Cruiser onto it. Combined weight of 4500 lbs trailer & Cruiser is about 13000 lbs (severely over gross of the GCVWR) but she hauls straight and true no probs.
