I’m still learning how to balance it tbh. It’s a lot of building the right systems, time management, and discipline.

Great idea! In the meantime I recommend checking out Ramit’s book I linked in the description. If you have access to a library you can get it for free. It’s important to be educated especially when it’s your money on the line.

I was gonna say...how long did your visit to the Salesforce building take? did you just go on your lunch break? And did you end up just condensing all of your work into the other hours and haul ass and got your tasks done? I feel like if I take a few hours out of my workday, I gotta stay a bit after 5pm to play catch up lol. And I work remote lol

What helped on your learning journey that made you good at coding?
@yourfriendintechАй бұрын
Making my own personal projects. It helped me build my skills, increased the amount of time I coded so I had more practice, and it opened doors for me when I applied to internships and jobs because I was able to add those projects to my resume.

Skills come first, a place like Google very much values PhD’s but you need to be good either way if you’re aiming for Google and that mostly comes down to who you are and are you knowledgeable and disciplined.

Really, think twice before you buy and try it. The object is so so heavy and difficult to move that you are put off before even using it. As a result, you don't use it or hardly ever !
@yourfriendintechАй бұрын
Ah sorry to hear that. I use mine pretty much every day but I don't have any issues lifting it. For anyone reading: it's 62 lbs which can be heavy depending on your strength. You can carry it from the lighter side and let the wheels do the heavy lifting so I would say it's more like lifting 25-30lbs and then it's much easier to wheel it wherever you want it to go.
@phitreАй бұрын
@@yourfriendintech I should have add that if you haven't a strong back (my case) try before. In fact mine is just below my ergonomic desk, so i cannot stand up so it makes me hard to move it. And in this case, it is really difficult and anyway it is heavy. My purpose is not to say that it is not good, don't get me wrong but my advice is to try how it is easy (or not) to move it in order to get a good idea :-) Thanks for your opinion ;-)
@yourfriendintechАй бұрын
All good! Your review is super helpful. I didn't have any issues with lifting it so I didn't think to mention how heavy it actually is. Thanks for sharing.

Hi, nice video! I'm a software engineer too! I think a contributing factor to burn out could be that you may be prioritising and finding fullfilment/purpose in life in things that are largely outside of your control e.g. career success, youtube consistency/success etc. The problem with that is as soon as things aren't going how you expected them to go or planned them out in your head it has a big impact on your mental health. I feel like this is a common problem with people who have been high achievers since a young age which makes it harder for them to be content/happy in life.
