The first thing is your antenna, you need to have an antenna that is probably active in nature and can receive signals at the frequency of 1.1 to 1.6 GHz. The next thing is your front end. These two are the most important components the rest can be configured in software easily.

we will be using lower frequency band(Ghz) ,so that the satellite will be having greater beam width, less path loss will be less. IRNSS will be using L5 & S band

A skilled technician could install and configure GPS hardware, a skilled engineer on the other hand will invent and design that GPS hardware, the professor types do the later..

in this type of lectures real practical measurement using gps are useful along with lectures.gps is it a 3-d measure of a point w.r.t to another known point
