I don't see why we pensioners can't be included in some sort of Salary Sacrifice from our state / private pensions, why should we have to pay tax on earnings when employee's get this perk?

The best pcp is with a bank and a car is yours. You pay a little more, but when you realise how much you spend on coffee, chips etc etc at work you can save.....£70 per month .Cooking at home is cheaper and better. Kind regards a poor 😂😂😂Nurse from NHS

When doing a salary sacrifice, is insurance added into the price? Or is that just a free benefit typically?

Octopus Energy are a company that has increased its daily standing charges daily rate from 12p per day in 2022 to today's rate of 32p per day. What are they doing differently supplying me with electricity? They regularly try to take far too much money to build up their cash balance with my money. They haven't done anything except give themselves more cash in dividends. All the public utilities, electricity, gas, water, should be taken back into public ownership.

If you salary sacrifice in a big company it is a much higher price as the leasing companies and employers add all sorts of insurances , tax , protection insurance (if you leave the company they are stuck with a car so they add this on ) maintenance , tyres , and because the the Tesla is classed as a high value ev , they won’t even allow you to get the car if you have any points on your license. I got the model 3 highland for £810 salary sacrifice. As a 40% taxpayer I’m paying £589 for the car.

Thanks, I am probably wrong as I am new to Intelligent, but I believe that with my Ohme charger, when I get an active charging slot then the whole house is on the cheap rate. Everyones use case is different, so well done Octopus giving us so many tariffs to choose from, obviously you need smart meters and I cannot understand the reluctance to have them installed.

tried the seal and tried the new highland 2024 model 3, and I have to say the model 3 highland has come along way and is definatlly better than the ByD but if you can't afford a tesla then a BYD is good option.

I tried the BYD seal. Really liked it apart from the intense steaming up of the cabin on a really cold day. Has the app been updated with the new NI yet or is it just the spreadsheets?

We have 2 EV's with combined annual milage of over 25k, it makes IO a no brainer.

Have bought the Toyota Aygo X cross on a PCP and after one year I had decided to apply for a loan from Natwest Bank and have my own PCP contract. Work in NHS and many people are worried about bills etc. Cars are too ekspensive etc. Don't believe that they will ban petrol cars, because electric cars from China are better and cheaper 😂😂😂. Car insurance for electric are up to 110% more for some drivers. Push you need to add at least 30% of the time you might use a fast charger cos you’re away from home. It’s really ain’t worth it. PS you said on average 40mpg on the petrol that’s what I get racing my corsa. (36-38 mpg) city driving 48+ motorway 80+ mpg. Well done with your working out. Octopus rules me out because I have a charger, EV, solar and shortly an Octopus heat pump. Work out the problem ....... and I'll give the 'reason' later on 🤔😢😮

An interesting comparison. Of course, the government is happy to allow their tax take from fuel duty to go to almost nothing for now…to get us all to switch to an EV. But if you factor in the fact that it cannot afford to lose this tax/duty income over the longer term, they are going to have to find a way to make the EV motorist pay more. Then the comparison may not look as evenly balanced as today’s figures might suggest.

Gas is currently cheaper on the tracker tariff too. Could make a big difference now we're getting into winter. I don't believe you can have tracker gas prices without tracker electricity.

It's kind of null and void if you don't have one of the supported cars and chargers though.😐

Hi i was on go faster for a year which ended so flexible was offered a fixed tariff at flexible prices on the new prices that is for 12 months Do you think i should do tracker at all Car charging wise its 3 pin only but i do not want go tariff or a tariff where cheap rate is 11.30.or 12 midnight as i wouldnt sleep with car plugged into a 3pin so its a no go for me Thinking tracker may be better since id be charging in day or morning now Will the prices go way up in winter though?

You didn't change the P11D value in the 116D example though... Question though... if the amount you sacrifice brings you below the 40% tax threshold, is the BIK based on 20%?
