A very interesting stash, your interests are all over the place. Ive toying with the idea of doing a couple of those egg/chiba models. Recently i was looking over the finemolds figures not egg, cartonish i guess they but i didn't buy any. Spent my money on paint, after mark stuff for tge 1/48 scale corsair, wildcat and dauntless aircraft. I enjoyed the video.

First off, the Duck looks great. Second, my vote goes for the Aussie Mirage. It's one of my favorite a/c and in the scale I exclusively build planes. Finally, some cool stuff in your stash. Lots of terrific sci-fi kits. That 1/32 Thud is gonna be huge! You might need a new house to display it. 😁

Food for thought, looking like you need a good reference book. I think Squadron Books do one on the Duck. Also KZfaq videos, Kermit Weeks is shown flying his in Florida. You could probably get an aftermarket canopy to cut if you looked. Good luck and cheers. 🍻

Glad you are doing this aircraft. As to it being on the water. Just to a small wooden dockside. Can't be too hard. 3 or 4 inches long and maybe 1 to 1.5 inches wide. Wanna make it real cool? Get a Tamiya 48th scale jeep and put it on the end of the drydock. Some cheap alternatives and wouldn't take long to come together
@grant6336Ай бұрын
Yes, there are plenty of ways it could be displayed, but as I am entering in a comp, it is for a specific category and I need to keep it simple and not turn it in to a diorama 👍
@jcwoodman5285Ай бұрын
Nice! I built this kit a couple of years ago and plan to build another! Fairly easy & you can buy a nifty bracing wires set which make the rigging easy. The kit does have some inaccuracies with the engine area & exhaust but i found it irrelevant, build was great!

Instead of Air America, why not do it up in the Australian Army colors used in Vietnam. The photos I have show 547th Signal Troop aircraft A14-690 at Nui Dat. You would have to fabricate the ARDF antenna on the aircraft's belly, but it is a simple disk housing the antenna.
@grant6336Ай бұрын
You can buy an Australian boxing of the Pilatus, I had it years a go, wasn't keen on tackling the unusual camo scheme, I sold it off
@aceroadholder2185Ай бұрын
@@grant6336 547 Signal aircraft were solid olive green. They did vary in that some had "ARMY" and aircraft number in white and others in black. Pilatus got pissed when they found out the aircraft were being used in a combat role.

Mt Cook Airlines (here in NZ) used to operate the Pilatus Porter on skis for flying up onto the glaciers. Their tv ads looked awesome with it landing uphill on the Mountain (not as steep as the one on Air America though!). I’ve got a 1:72 Pilatus kit made by BPK (Big Planes Kits) which is ironic because it’ll be tiny when built🙂
@grant6336Ай бұрын
I just looked up that airline's Pilatus, nice scheme. Interesting on the BPK, I thought they only did large aircraft like the Boeing Wedgetail
@driverlanceАй бұрын
@@grant6336 I’m not even sure where I got it from but I rechecked the box and it’s definitely BPK. The box looks a bit old so it might be an older kit (90’s?).
