bro it's 2024 records are cut with the same files that the streaming services use. It all sounds the same it's not an all analog process anymore.. . Explanation (when you make analog media from digital media and not analog media from analog media, there is no difference between analog and digital when it's all made from the same digital master media)

bro people that listen to Eminem don’t care about music quality. If they did, they wouldn’t be listening to Eminem.

This wasn't a fair comparison. The only way to tell the difference is to be in the room in front of the speakers. You can't play the music through your speakers and pick the sound up with your camera mic and play it on youtube and expect anyone to tell the difference. It's too hard to tell the difference, and I could not tell the difference. No disrespect. Sometimes, digital sounds better, and sometimes, analog sounds better. And sometimes it boils down to what the listener prefers. I prefer records, but not the crackle or surface noise associated with them. I wish cd's were analog and not digital. Then we'd get pure noiseless analog. But I can only dream.

The vinyl is being played at a noticeably louder volume. KZfaq videos also have pretty high compression, I can noticeably tell the difference between a song on KZfaq and even Spotify. Those two things combined result in the vinyl sounding better. To properly test this, you’d need to match the volume for both inputs, and ideally use a CD to get a true analog vs vinyl comparison.

Definitely a difference even through the phone. Clarity and definition evident on vinyl.
@dera6347
@dera6347 Ай бұрын
If anything, you only proved that it depends on the input source on which sounds better. All audio through KZfaq will be digital, there is no way possible to reproduce an analog sound with KZfaq, as all things on the internet are digital. All of us listing to this are listing to a digital version of it, where only the input source changed. This means that if the exact same input source was used to record the record, a CD, or an MP3 then all 3 would be nearly indistinguishable.

you tested it on youtube though which is very low quality audio should test with high bit rate file or CD but also the record probably sounded worse because- i didnt see a receiver which means ur probably using powered speakers which dont have the best amp for vinyl records- so in the end- i couldnt hear the difference on my phone and even if it was in person id still find something to complain about i guess

Is the cartridge Moving Magnet (MM) or Moving Coil (MC) or ceramic (CER)?
@cirenosnor5768
@cirenosnor5768 2 ай бұрын
@joelfrombethlehem - either a MC or MM is capable of being quieter. In some cases, the needle is shaped in a way that can go deeper into the vinyl groove, thus further down past the “surface noise” where a lot of pops and crackling happens. Going deeper in the groove also retrieves more sonic information.

Analog playback even on a digital recording is going to be different and in my opinion better. Because a stylus and cartridge is my like a natural instrument with internal vibrations frequency all lend to a more natural sound. Think of a guitar string vibrating in 3 dimensions instead of 2.

@cirenosnor5768
@cirenosnor5768 2 ай бұрын
@globaldeception7414 - I don’t think “crisper and clearer” are major virtues of vinyl compared to digital. If anything, the turntables most are using is *less* crisp and a has a softer sound. As some have mentioned here. I think better vinyl and turntables do however have more ambiance and a bigger soundstage. Nobody ever seems to talk about those things
