I would guess now it could be ordered online or found in store for wrapping gift baskets...my guess. This was something my mom had bought years ago. It's called "mylar"

Thank you for this tutorial! I wanted to buy some crinkle balls, but they are expensive now! Just like everything else I guess (sigh). I knew you could make these from cellophane, but I couldn't remember how.

I gave my cats some crinkle fish toys for Christmas, and within an hour of playing with it one of them had one in pieces and was trying to eat the crinkle paper!

Will the oil seep through the card?

I can only speak for pure essential oil, and at the amount I used, and letting it soak in the heart first I haven't noticed any seeping into the card. If the oil isn't 100% pure I couldn't tell you what might be added in it, coconut oil for example would be a possible addativeand and it would. I only work with pure oil and carriers such as coconut. I wouldn't be able to say accurately on any others oils.

thanks for the tutorial! you can also do this with recycled plastic packaging bags from potato chips or junk food and cut em up!! made those before and they have the same crinkly sound effect and the inside of the bags are also silver and shiny so that's an added bonus! my cats love em

if they are just white on at least one side, why not just trim the short sides and re-use them for printing on, just run them through your printer to make labels, I use them to print small labels to stick on my AVON brochures

WOW you are a genius Miss Black Cat. I have just transformed two unflattering round neck tops into two sexy V neck with a twist in a few minutes each. I did stumble along a bit with the twisting, but worked it out and then simply folded back and stitched the excess fabric to form the V neckline. THANK YOU. I had earmarked these tops to throw away and now they are FAB and totally wearable.

Look in the gift wrapping department for iridescent "tissue paper". I know for certain that Hobby Lobby carries it. If you want to look for more at the best bulk price, they have iridescent cellophane that's the same thing but better at cellodepot.com - a whole 30"x100' roll for around $30. I believe they had shorter rolls as well, worth a look. I was just buying a lot for packaging my products.

Oh, and good luck! The iridescent stuff is fun to look at whether you're packaging products or making cat toys! Even if you can't justify spending $30 for a few cat toys, the roll goes a loooonng way - and has a decent number of uses. It'll last you years if you store it carefully (it dings up easily), and always release some dopamine when you look at it. Seriously, the stuff is that PRETTY.
