I love the little hints in Richard's dialogue

I love how later you learn that Richard is as mind fucked by the whole thing as anyone, despite appearing to be entirely in the know initially.

Knowing that MIB is Jacob's brother, you can see how he wasn't gonna let anyone get in the way of him seeing Jacob and he wasn't going to abide by his rules. MIB spent centuries on the island with him. That's obviously what Ben and Richard didn't know here.

"That is orange juice, with a considerable amount of tranquilizer mixed in." - I know it's silly, but this is one of my favorite lines from the entire series. It made me laugh when I first saw the episode, but it's LOST in a nutshell: 'why even deny the crazy thing you just saw, how about we just roll with it?'

Ben was such a good manipulator…it was nice to see him get played by the MiB. Ben had so many files on people and he watched people from the control room at the Pearl station to understand which buttons to push to make people do what he wanted…but the MiB could read people’s minds to know who they truly were and could help him figure out who he could manipulate. I think that was the reason he killed Echo. He tried to pretend to be Echo’s brother and when Echo didn’t confess his sins, the MiB slipped up and got upset and told Echo he wasn’t his brother. To prevent Echo from telling others that he saw a figure who looked liked his brother but wasn’t him…he killed Echo. Had Jack known this information, he would have realized he didn’t see his father which almost led him falling off a cliff…had Hurley known this he would have known Dave was the MiB who tried to make him jump off a cliff…and had Ben known this information he would have realized Alex wasn’t his daughter and was lying to him to follow and do whatever the fake John told him to do.

Why Ben wasn’t able to cross into the light. I also think the MiB telling him John Lock’s last thoughts of Ben killing was I don’t understand…I sure a lot of people including his dad thought the same thing when they were being gassed.

Notice how Jacob leads MiB away at the same time richard comes to convince Sawyer to leave. Jacob's trying to save Sawyer from being killed by MiB with the ladder, or be recuited by him.
