i have this issue with journals. what helps me is skipping the first couple of pages, or more. there's too much pressure for the first page. so i count to the 5th or 6th page and then start writing, and then when the journal is full i'll go back and reflect about everything that transpired while i kept the journal on the first few pages. also i end up writing random notes and telephone numbers and little doodles so it ends up looking kind of junky and messy anyway but i like it like that. there's no such thing as perfect. ❤

@@gillagroupie I’ve totally done that too. Or I test out some pens and markers on the back page and then it feels used 😂

Great idea for framing, will try it! Thank you. N.B. Acrylic is not what I would describe as durable though! Oil is durable, it dries to a really tough paint film over the years. Acrylic, however, always stays slightly soft (it is just due to the chemistry of the binders), meaning once dry it then sticks to glass/ perspex or other surfaces and collects dirt easily. Best to varnish acrylic to make it durable.

You can get little rubber squares to help remove stickers without soaking them. I got some at the Dollar King in Los Angeles area. Sure you can get them online or craft store.

This is great, and I love that frame! I did a huge TNR project at a prison to get their prison yard cats fixed. The inmates painted me a big collection of cat art that I want to hang.

I made a small painting last night and was trying to decide if I should convert it into a postcard. After turning it over several times to think about it, I noticed my fingers were covered in a colorful dust like substance. I did not realize at first it was the paint. It was coming off just by skin and cloth contact. I highly doubt that is safe or would be appreciated in the mail. I used Bazic Washable Watercolors with 12 colors. I like the look of it, but not the feel/powdery residue. Said not safe for children under 3. I am assuming not safe for anyone if they end up rubbing their eyes or sticking their fingers in their mouths, even after the paint dries in the paper. Made in China.

Sorry but you can't close every frame after putting the panel in to the frame because the panel is too thick or the frame too thin. How ever, it doesn't work with every frame!

As long as it’s varnished I would t worry about it. Think of an actual acrylic painting hanging on a wall. It’s not behind glass either. Now if it was gouache or watercolor I would t. But varnish and acrylic or oil should be fine.

I'm going to varnish the painting bc my house is very dusty. I'll see what Michael's employees recommend so I don't ruin the art.

I just happen to buy this one but I noticed it is not a bright (snow) white. Does that hinder one’s ability to arrive at the correct color as it is not as white as the paper. I have also tried palettes from Meeden and Steven Qulller…they are all off white

I got a porcelain snack tray from the charity shop for £1 which isa perfect palette. Whilst l was there l picked up some old towels which l use to cover my table when painting. That way you can protect your work surface and wipe your brushes at the same time! Win win 😊

I’ll try Teachable again perhaps. I just spent 8 hours yesterday trying to upload two videos for Skillshare and they were 2.14 GB and wouldn’t upload. I didn’t realize it had to be less than 2 GB but yet had to be a high quality video … that means around 8-9 minutes for each segment which is a pain to divide my 30 minute tutorial, but I did anyway and it still didn’t upload (it also had part 1,2, and 3). I wonder if that’s why it didn’t get accepted. I ended up creating a Patreon account until I figure out which platform to use! Thanks for sharing about experience!
@WeronikaZubekart Жыл бұрын
Exactly! They want tiny videos. But sometimes it’s hard to divide up one long demo. Then you divide divide and still size is too large. And it’s just a pain
