The Black Knight's resilience as much as it's humorous it's actually poignant, it teaches me to keep going and to consider every pain a mere scratch. You won't believe it but a Quran verse actually brought me here, it reminded me of this scene. It's 3:140 (Al Imran (Family of Imran, aya 140)

I don't know this for a fact, but I suspect that James Cameron originally intended for the Marines' IR imaging lens to be shown in first-person POV, with effects similar to what was used to create the T-800's thermal imaging POV in "The Terminator." Some drafts of the script even reference this view (though seen only on the cameras in the APC command center). However, they probably also didn't have the budget to realize those effects in the final film.

Maybe my biggest criticism of Aliens comes specifically from the cryo scenes- if they were spending *this* much effort to send them places then you would expect the marine teams to be *significantly* more competent and professional than they actually are, and be pretty much immune to pressure, you'd expect them to be equivalent to real life top tier special forces or one step down at the worst. There's no point transporting around marines with this level of effort if they're not the best, the expense would be too much. You can *sort of* handwave some of it away but it still never completely sits right with me

My first experience with the Alien franchise was this very scene. I caught it on television as a kid and I had NO IDEA Bishop was a robot. I wondered just what the hell that Alien did to him and it MESSED ME UP.
