Hi @DJMikeJames, nice video. I’m eyeing the 8 pack of these lights with the chargeable flight case and I was just checking out some video reviews of this product. I was wondering for the par’s built in Wi-Fi DMX feature, do you need to have the Rockville transmitter dongle to control the lights or can you use the Donners Dongles or Chauvet Wireless DMX Transmitter Dongles? I’m planning on controlling the lights wirelessly using my SoundSwitch Control One Device.
@DJMikeJames3 күн бұрын
The lights themselves have wireless dmx antennas built into them, so depending on which version you end up getting the original version had the (7) 2.4ghz color groups and at that point set in a dmx color group you'd control them like any other fixture. The next generation fixtures, like my RF3's only have 4 dmx color groups, but way more remote functions for grouping, so as long as you have the dmx color group matched up any transmitter will control them...

I can see them on top of your totomes. Nice light.
@DJMikeJames3 күн бұрын
Yes sir... that's where they're going! Now that I can fly mount my ADJ Boombox FX2'S directly to my speakers, I'll have the option of having different lighting levels, as is so popular right now, and look super clean doing it, plus they'll be a great addition to my truss set up! We'll see them at the end of the year event in December

Nice video, how safe are these in terms of potential eye/skin damage?
@DJMikeJames6 күн бұрын
Taking into consideration that there is always inherent danger when using any laser...these are probably 300-500mW, so relatively low power... minimal skin damage risk if any, however it is recommended not to have this or any laser hit folks directly in the eyes, but these are about the lowest laser wattage you can buy! I hope this answers your question 🙏 Thanks for watching 👀 and commenting

The rockwedges are wirelessly dmx'd together as you can still use the ir remote to control them... the mini RF1's are set in 2 static colors in this case themed blue and gold (wedding colors) and can still all be controlled with the rf remote at the same time... the new mini RF3's have more control and color group options in the rf remote, which is awesome, but still have limited dmx capabilities without using a wireless dmx controller 😉 I do have more in depth videos up going over the more technical aspects of these fixtures...if ya get a minute, check em out! I also agree it's more of a Beginner light set-up. Thank you for making this video.

These look great. I believe the defused lighting effect is where it’s at nowadays. Almost like people want this more gentle colouring wash of the whole room vs Pilar’s of course lights and the resulting washes out areas that pop up in photographs that happen with focused lighting. The 75 buck price tag is quite good for the length of the bar and brightness. Great video.

I'm beginning to agree with you there... these eye candy pixel lights are gaining popularity across the industry as many of the bigger companies all have a version now, whether diffused or not and I think it's for the reasons you just stated... they're ambient, eye catching and have a ton of features and functions and the price point (it was Father's Day weekend) isn't so expensive you couldn't get a couple sets of them for a balanced stage set up... I know you can with a dmx controller, at that point you can create and save shows, in the fixture itself you can set the motor for uplighting but as far as limiting the parameters of the pan angle in an auto show or a sound active mode... My honest thoughts. It was a small wedding and may not have worked, but quick mixing or transition mixing (playing about 2 minutes of a song) keeps people on the floor. Keeps the vibe going. I usually have to tell people last song at weddings because time is up. You should consider that next level DJ'ing.

I was doing that... my point was this reception started at 3pm and subsequently ended at 7pm, so open dance was roughly 5pm-ish and it was a drinking crowd but still a lot to ask to get folks fired up that early in the day! It's is totally different doing it with Spotify and the controller. Beat matching and transitioning at the right part of the song can't be done on Spotify. And the STEMs feature is a game changer. It makes DJ'ing alot interesting.
