I’ve watched this video since I was 8 years old now I’m going on 23 and truly still the most beautiful notes I’ve ever heard come out of any brass instrument. Many thanks to Arturo Sandoval for such an amazing and absolutely inspiring piece

I forgot there was an octave jump. This man is a goddamn legend. I quit trumpet years ago, because that shit is ridiculously hard, and it requires an incredible amount of skill and dedication. This man doesn’t just have huge balls, but he is obviously extremely confident in his prep for that final run of notes

This is truly beautiful. It's gatekeeping to say that only trumpet players or band nerds would understand the beauty of this. I'm not particularly patriotic nor do I know anything about trumpets, but this obviously is hard to play and done very skillfully with just the perfect amount of flair at the right points. The whole point of complex technical skills is that they can impress anyone if your focus is on the sound and not proving your technical skill. You have to set your ego aside and play for your audience, not for yourself.

I saw him 3 weeks ago, in concert. I didn't realize that even his backing band was so good! It was a restaurant/club in the San Francisco Bay Area, and we dropped enough to keep the mafia quiet for a week, but I don't regret a cent.
