To each their own. As for me, I prefer Wayne's original old school version. The solos were more definitive for one thing. Miles was on his way to Bitches Brew with this one...and he never looked back.

This maybe sacrilege but I actually think WAYNE SHORTER is better than COLTRANE.

42:46 Pat Metheny is the GOAT here - too bad this song was poorly chosen for this lady's voice. Also, Jamie Cullum (27:36) looked very serious during his performance. Is he always like that, or was he maybe a little nervous?

The thing I love most about HH is his humility and joy. The way he looked flabbergasted at winning ❤

Herbie, one of our founding fathers of Jazz Funk. Although I'm sure ideas came from a mixture of Brown, Hendrix, Sly, and other modern rock in those days.

If you like Pat, more power to you. Hes not a jazz guitarist. He wants you to think he is. Hes not. But god bless him anyway.

Herbie Herbie he absolutely killed it (IMO). The way his solo developed and the tension he creates then of course Holland comes in and he smashed it. Sorry I forgot to mention they are all monsters 😅
