I used a shoalie this past weekend for a skinny water tournament. It was loaned to me because my Titan x 12.5 just isn’t set up for that kind of fishing. I was impressed! I never felt unsafe, it was not a terrible one to drag when needed. Only thing I didn’t like is from getting in and out so much water would collect and set on my ketch board so I would have to drain it off every time before I used it. Also as a talk person I would have liked to have had the seat riser, even at high position I wish d it was higher. Now as far as padding? Best I ever used and I was floating in like 8 in of water loaded so that was cool

Great review! I have an Old town sportsman 106 paddle and love it! Old town makes quality well thought out fishing platforms that are a joy to fish with. They even include a place where the rod holders are to add a lanyard strap to save your rods/ reels from ending up in the water by the ever-hungry creekside bush/tree...

Good review John,.....I wish that I enjoyed fishing from a kayak. I've tried it a few times and it's just not for me seems like. But I can see where you just about have to use one in your type of fishing. This will be good info for folks that want one that doesn't cost a fortune.

I just picked some of these up this spring. I’ve enjoyed many crappie tacos on my dinner table because of these plastics. They are amazing! Love your take on the ultralight focus. Also appreciate the eurotackle review. One thing I found when the spring bite tapered off this year was the size 04 rapala x-rap. It’s a tiny suspending jerk bait with a feather trailer and it killed on crappies that didn’t want to bite. I caught my limit, but kept fishing for three more hours because I was having so much fun with my ultra light rig.

Wow dude! Its amazing what peiple will waist there money on. I did all those upgrades but i made them myself. Seriously, you can make these upgrades yourself for a fraction of the price. I made front and rear seat risers from presure treated wood. And you can make them any size you want. You dont need that 3m tape. Just drill a couple holes in the rear seat knuckle and zip tie that shit. Those pdl drive spacers!! Really dude. One inch pvc and make them any size you want. Same with seat spacers. Wow! That navarre is just riping off dudes!!!

You should find someone to make hooks for making hellgrammite jigheads. I think if you did the same thing but bent the line tie 90* so it was still vertical that would massively improve how that rigging method performs in heavy wood cover

Tried this last night and it really works. I was using a yum hellgrammite rigged on a size 4 ewg hook and a 1/16 ounce cone sinker. Casting upstream at a 45 degree angle and just letting it drift. I just moved to mountains in ne tennessee and this is the best day I've had since I moved here.

When I’m at home I use the FG knot the night before I’m going fishing. In the field I use the Alberto knot never had any problems with either. Obviously the FG done properly is considerably stronger but for what I do the Alberto works just fine 95% of the time.

If you think the 3" is great you should try my 1.5" helgi's everything demolishes it. I normally get no joke 20-40 fish in a few hours. I will probably get me a 2.7" coreshot helgi next.

Great video. I’m looking to get more pan fish gear as I’m pretty heavy into bass gear right now. One suggestion. It would be helpful for us viewers if you would hold the items up until they are in focus and hold them long enough for us to read what they are.

In case there are any women looking at this kayak - Cons I can also confirm the stability when standing isn't quite as steady as I thought it would be. I also am ~220lbs but shorter. I can technically put all my weight on one foot and it will not tip the kayak but it does lean enough to make me feel like I could lose my balance. Sometimes when a fish jumps near me or I get a bite, I jump a little or jerk quickly to hook the fish, and I'm always afraid I'm going to just jump/jerk myself right off the edge of the kayak if I'm standing. (Hopefully I'm not the only one...😅). I cared more about being able to pedal and fish simultaneously than being able to stand so I'm not torn up about this. Pros As a woman, this size is manageable for me to be able to get it in and out of a truck bed with the help of a trolley so you don't have to carry all of the weight at once at any given point. I can technically carry it without but it is super awkward to do so. At 5'3" I do have to adjust the seat as far forward as it can go to reach the pedals comfortably. I actually like this model's storage organization better than the max model that was released because it puts everything pretty close to the seat which is helpful if you have shorter arm span.
