Dr. Julian Bashir : Is there anything you need me to do while you're gone? Elim Garak : Like what? Dr. Julian Bashir : I don't know. Any unfinished business? Elim Garak : Actually, Doctor, there is something. Dr. Julian Bashir : What? Elim Garak : If you go into my quarters and examine the bulkhead next to the replicator, you'll notice there's a false panel. Behind that panel is a compartment containing an isolinear rod. If I'm not back within 78 hours, I want you to take that rod... and eat it. Dr. Julian Bashir : Eat it? Elim Garak : [affirmatively] Mm. Dr. Julian Bashir : You're joking. Elim Garak : Yes doctor, I am.

First thing i do is set it up how i like it. Check for straight, feel fret ends and tweek, check saddle hight and tweek, check frets by feelometer, using a fine wet and dry sandpaper knock the gloss off of back of thè neck until you have a dry satin feel. Lightly oil and check for feel repeat until you like it. It is well worth while learning how to do a setup cos you end up with a custom feel on your guitar like the pros. Cool vìdeo

Excellent points! I will be conditioning the fretboard and doing a few other tweaks to it soon. I was actually surprised how little setup (at least for me!) this guitar needed right out of the box, especially at this price point. If I may ask, what grit sandpaper would you recommend to knock down a bit of the neck finish? I used to have some 2000-8000 grit when I was doing lathe woodworking, and I imagine that fine would be good for the last round of knockdown? Thanks for stopping by and commenting!

"You'd shoot a man in the back?" "Well, it's the safest way, isn't it?" It's like a line out of a Western. Out in the frontier, there's so much scarcity and lawlessness that Federation ethics don't hold as much sway. I love how DS9 was able to blend other genres into the Trek formula.

As a beginner, please explain how an EQ controller doubles as a tuner. Thanks.
@GenomePresents
@GenomePresents 4 күн бұрын
The tuner itself is built-in to the EQ assembly. There is a small LCD window that shows your tunings (when you turn it on that is). Hope that makes sense.

#7 "And that would be a wise decision." The way Robinson played that line, Odo had just got the best of him with "If there were, I certainly wouldn't tell you," and he needed a moment to come up with the response.

Thanks for commenting! I love hearing from someone's thoughts when they own "the real thing" as well! Lends more credence to my thoughts that this bass was an excellent value. Bummer to hear that your bridge arrived broken though; that is really weird! One of these days, I need to upgrade to those tuner knobs to "complete" the look a bit more.

I have the same guitar which I paid $225 second hand but had a super nice strap and gig bag. I like it. The biggest problem is the cheap electronics. The pickups don't sound bad but they don't sound great. The output jack is failing/sound drops out when the cord plug moves and switch is crappy, I plan on putting a new harness and pickups in and maybe a roller bridge.

I love how every time someone is like "I probably shouldn't trust you" Garak just straight up "Well, well, well. Someone's learning. You may just survive after all." And yet, oddly, in the entire series.. Garak and Quark seem to be two of the more.. trustworthy characters. Yes, they're involved with all sorts of underhanded despicable shit, but.. they have morals. It's not like Dark Lord of Middle Earth where Sauron is just a force of evil with no nuance whatsoever. Rings of Power actually did him some justice by going all Milton's Sauron about it.

It's a shame Andrew Robinson is generally remembered more for Dirty Harry than DS9, he gave a magnificent performance in this show. Objectively Garak is a horrible person, but he's so likable and so effective when he's on our side that you don't want him to get what he deserves.

The craziest thing is that Andrew Robinson was originally seriously considered for the role of Odo of all people, according to some sources supposedly almost ending up being cast in the role. While the role of Odo eventually went Rene Auberjoines, producers wanted to keep Robinson on the show in some capacity and created a brand new character just for him. The character eventually evolved into Elim Garak.
@miroslavtomic7038
@miroslavtomic7038 Ай бұрын
Not to mention that animosity and rivalry between Garak and Odo eventually became arguably the second best ongoing storyline of the entire series. Second only, of course, to rivalry between Odo and Quark.

Yeah, this guitar ticked me off so much I sold it very shortly after uploading this video, heh. The 310 and Yamaha FG's are CERTAINLY a better value than this one, and the Fenders at this price would likely stomp it as well. I also really like Orangewoods at this price point.

Currently narrowed my choices down to this Rogue RA-090 available from Guitar Center on sale at $79.99 at the time of this comment (roughly $116 with tax and a tuner & stand being my first guitar in years) or a Fender FA-25 (also a full size dreadnought design and so forth) for $99.99 at Amazon currently (roughly $123 again with tax and a tuner & stand to get started). So with a less than $10 price difference between the 2 packages I'm exploring now both options. Open to any opinions, suggestions, insights, etc.
@GenomePresents
@GenomePresents Ай бұрын
Sorry, just saw this comment. I had a similar Fender to that model a few years ago, and it seemed like a good unit. Alas, I haven't played it in quite a while as I gave it away to someone in need of it (it was actually given to me, so fair's fair!). If memory serves, the Fender had a slightly lower tone, and the Rogue tone seemed "brighter". Kinda preference I guess, though if you think you might resell it later, you might have better luck moving the Fender. I believe that either will treat you very well. Also at near that price-point is the Orangewood Manhattan, which I thought was an excellent guitar for the cost. I did a review of it here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mpOSgdOnm9zPpIE.html Let me know which one you decided to go with!
@GhostPainKiller
@GhostPainKiller 3 ай бұрын

@GenomePresents
@GenomePresents 2 ай бұрын
Depending on your budget, I would say that this guitar is indeed a good way to start in learning the guitar. The Orangewood Manhattan is also a good option, for a higher cost but has a lot going for it. The Rogue RA-090 has enough quality (at least mine did) to not make the initial learning/playing harder than it has to be, and at the same time won't break the bank if you decide that playing guitar just isn't for you. Now, if you have more budget to work with, I would likely recommend going a bit higher in models (something like the Yamaha FG series or guitars like the Austen from Orangewood), which are typically in the $200 range, due to the simple fact as they will likely grow with you as you progress. They are solid top guitars, which can be a deal-breaker for some due to the increased tonal quality. The long and short of it is, if you have or only want to spend $100 or less to get started, I think the Rogue RA-090 is a great way to do it! When these things are offered at $50-$60, that is a stupidly good deal. A few things to note though is that you will need to install your own second strap button (I did a video on it), and it has no gig bag, so depending on what you plan on doing with it, you may need to purchase these things. The good thing about super-budget guitars like this is that they are so cheap you don't have to fret much about banging them around, so you might not even bother with a travel case. An added plus is that they are sold at most music stores as well, so you could go and put your hands on one to see if it works for you. Hope this helps!

Whitney was more than just belting, but she was so good at it that it’s all people seem to remember. Sade is like Whitney minus the range and all the technical skill, and with a more creative band.
