Nice 👍 system you have done. I want somehow combine this charcoal production with my novel very lage ”Water turbine stirling engine” you can se here. The Wall temperatur of the hot cylinder will be around 350-400C for my glass foam displacer kzfaq.infoWTryMD3YQ2g?si=Ij6NgHoxU7i0xsxs kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mJqTjLRjnM3dgpc.htmlsi=6resg8Z8IcuHfFWL

Doesn't pine have a significant amount of turpentine in it? Is it sufficiently eliminated by the charcoal process that it doesn't interfere with the microbes inoculating the charcoal?
@didgeridooblue4 ай бұрын
At high temperatures the turpenoids become volatile and become combustible.

Looks great, incorporating a clean burn system into the kiln enhances its environmental credentials, this ensures the combustion is efficient and complete, minimising the release of harmful pollutants into the atmosphere. Well done 👏

What's the highest temp it can hold? Or has held? Is it quenching as the char is leaving or as it is still in the base?
@koltoncrane30995 ай бұрын
Good looking setup. Do you use an electric heater or something to maintain your temperature you set it at or is temperature just adjusted by air flow?

I put a couple buckets in my compost pile weekly and I’m seriously wanting to make biochar for the soil in my yard. I hadn’t considered the coffee going into the retort.
Hi, can I process chicken litter at 70% dry matter and even dairy slurry at 30% dry matter?

Maybe run the system on methane from a manure digester. This way would not be wasting any wood.

Not typically. You end up having to cook all the water off so you really don't want to add water.

@MYRRHfamily Жыл бұрын
Coal? You mean charcoal I hope. You do know that coal and charcoal are different right? The answer is “yes, pretty much” if you mean h charcoal. Biochar is just charcoal made with some scientific precision.

I wish you’d shown the out put product, and a schematic showing the sequence of operation. Is it natural draft, forced air draft, continuous feed and output, etc those are facts I’m curious about. People would also like to know the price range…

@rowdyyeatts Жыл бұрын
That is certainly a possibility but we have not done so. It does produce a steady stream of syngas in the gas manifold.
