It would be interesting if it also had nfc, near field communication. Kind of like the way you pay at a gas station with your phone. But instead you can use it as an RFID to unlock your door.

Mike, I’m a huge fan of your shows and I love watching you help people. I happened to run into videos of a trio of brothers who own a roofing company up in your neck of the woods. They go around replacing gutters and roofs for free as their way of giving back to the community, on top of running their roofing business. They’re really helping the community and helping change lives, just as you’ve done over your career. Thought you might be interested in checking it out. They’re Rudan Roofing. kzfaq.info/sun/PLWL5HLk39dThSoiy8p8MSfwuVKlLE4nto&si=se09JTAQwG14Xmv7

Stay away from trades young people! No job security, you literally have to hope someone hires you for a job. Then they try to negotiate the cheapest price. Your body gets worn out, no regular income. Listen to an ex carpenter who fell for the bullshit. I now own a fast food business earning good money and it’s fun

So what would you do different on a home with a basement where the builder poured the slab directly on the dirt with just a vapor barrier? Since there is no aggregat under the slab, how would it pull air from beneath the entire house?

I don't like the idea of everyone has a tree that grows money to pay for spray foam but removing drywall is a very good insurance policy and can actually save other trades time, therefore money.

Why didn't you just duct fresh air into the room? I put a dryer vent on the outside (under deck) and use it to draw fresh air in thru 4-in ducting down to a floor register in the bottom kick plate of the stairs. Out of the way but easy to access. Open it in winter when wood stove is running... close it in summer. No motors. No warranty's. No repairs. No replacements. I also have ICF's (for my basement) and am amazed that you don't have a concrete board barrier between the insert opening and the ICF forms! They don't 'burn' easily but DO 'melt' down and outgas until the temps are high enough to cause open flame. You're the man, I know you KNOW how do do things so hoping you'll elaborate so I understand more! (I iz a jack-leg... but still try to learn!)

Surge protectors use a destructive morphology of internal components, and silently become useless through successive surge events. Most do not indicate the internal state of reserve or function. False security in installed systems.

Unpopular comment here most likely. I disagree to a point. I get peoples points about long hours and not being home but thats more industrial. I made the switch from being an industrial electrician living that life to a residential electrician at an hvac company. It is physical but not back breaking and im getting industrial rate still. I personally enjoy it, it keeps me in shape, like how some people go to the gym, also i get around 80k per year and i dont even work a full 40 hours per week usually. Get to see my family every day, im happy, but i understand its not for everyone. Each to their own. Oh an also, working with your hands, you WILL be able to save a fk ton on doing your own DIYs at home.

Resetable surge protectors have been a thing for decades...
@JoshuaCollins15 күн бұрын
@@i-love-comountains3850 it's not about resetting after a fault. It's about the consumable components within the surge protection device that wear out over time from fluctuations in energy entering them. Take a look around the internet; you'll find it's generally advised to change surge protectors around every 2 years. Going to pass on this product

Why would I install a heat pump when, for insurance purposes you need a 2nd type of heat source in your house. Could it be because they don't provide enough heat at -30? Instead I upgraded my Natural gas furnace to a 90% efficient one. Sorry but unless electrical prices really drop I cant see the advantage.
