Hi, can you tell more about speech defects related to enlarged tonsils and show some exercises for these tonsils?
@Clearenglishcoach
@Clearenglishcoach 3 ай бұрын
I'm sorry, I don't know much about speech defects or exercises for enlarged tonsils. I started teaching pronunciation after teaching English as a Second Language at University of Houston. My students knew grammar, vocabulary, reading and writing but still had trouble with pronunciation, so I started focusing only on pronunciation and accent modification fourteen years ago. I love teaching pronunciation. Good luck. Cheers, Donna

Hi! This is my first time watching your video, and I enjoy your video and I'm looking through your channel to see any other videos that are also helpful. I am not using this video to help my english accent, but I am using this video and some of your other content to reconstruct the fluency of my speech to overcome stammering/stuttering or at least signifcantly reduce it and to articulate my speech better and clearly. I also love your energy in these videos it makes me feel like I'm there with you in person and your teaching me one on one. You also make it interesting and lively. Thank you!

Thank you Donna. I learnt the difference of long and short OO sound of now. Previously I used to make no difference between these two OO sounds.
@Clearenglishcoach
@Clearenglishcoach 3 ай бұрын
I recognized that many of my bilingual clients didn't realize the difference either and had trouble with words spelled with the double /OO/ vowels. That's why I made the video. I'm glad it helped you. It's the short/relaxed /OO/ that seems to be harder for them. Words like: good, wood, could, foot, book. Thanks for you comments. I hope to hear from you again. Cheers, Donna

9:08 Hello, instead of long and short, I would say more tense and relaxed, which I think is right. Because duration has nothing to do with it, as the channel "Sounds America" proved.

Hello Frederic, thanks for your comments. I use the terms tense and relaxed for the Double /oo/ sounds like in food and foot. I find different terminology used in many resources.

Hi there, I really appreciate your comment. Please tell me more about your question, so I can understand how to be more helpful to you. Nouns, adjectives, verbs and adverbs are considered content words that we put stress on. Examples in this video are demonstrating which word, in two word combinations that we put stress on, similar to a compound word or 2 syllable noun. Did that answer your comment? Cheers, Donna
