2:14 At 1.2 kw hours per nautical mile it’s fuel cost would be only 8% of my current 20 foot boat. This is based on what I pay for electricity and petrol in my country.

I have a couple LAND BASED recreational electric vehicles. This does NOT seem like a sensible idea in ANY WAY but to TRY to be edgy. NOT bright use of electric motors.

Both are 93lbs and are 5376Wh and rated 48V.

@@boatsales so, weight wise, what would be a lighter load, a ICE outboard motor with say a 10 gallon tank of fuel, or the electric motor and the battery pack?

@@toddmcclellan979 the standard with if mercury’s 15hp engine is 107lb and the new 9.9hp is 84lbs. That’s not with the fuel. So it would put the electric ones ahead of

If they've used parts from the Volvo group, why haven't they also used their hybrid power system with a small petrol or diesel to cruise with. A little 1.5 diesel engine would be more than enough power to let it cruise at 22 knots all day long.

hybrid is just a band-aid solution. just guy pure ICE or pure electric, two drivetrains = 2x the problem, weight and cost. Hybrid's biggest pros are a more responsive throttle and regen when braking, both dont really matter for a cruising boat

I don’t get this boat…. If you want a rugged looking offshore rig why not bass straight, edencraft, coota etc… or if a 21 degree deadline boat a Haines, north bank, etc…? Not being critical just trying to understand its niche?

Agree, I think calling it anything to do with the Formula name is a BIG ask and BIG mistake upon Haines Hunter. I like Haines Hunter boats. I've owned a couple myself. Why not just call them the OS (Off Shore) model or something.. I could probably deal with the shallow deadrise. The carolina flare would be great in a following sea, but that bow entry looks ridiculously blunt and inadequate for an off shore performer for my liking. I doubt that their acclaimed design from an "off shore racing hull" is correct either.

@@trogdortheburninator8149 thanks for the reply. I started looking at the 325 but the 335 freedom was noticeable larger and I hear rides much better. I have been on a older 375 and I like the ride but have not been in any rough water. The Fountain is new and has a 11.3 beam vs 13.2 on the Grady 375 but 2' longer. I'm leaning towards Grady and will see what's left over towards the end of the year. Prices have gotten way out of hand but I know I can get the Fountain at a really good price and I know how they ride for the most part being on their 38 CC w the same bottom.

I just bought a Explorer Pro and I'm not buying one accessory because they are all way overpriced. I'm just going to use a cooler that I already own and mount the linq attachments to the bottom of it and save a ton of money. Same with a gas can. Don't buy these overpriced accessories.

its possible, but owning one myself, i wouldn't consider it and recommend against the idea, its just too heavy, and the cost of the trailer you need to tow it, not to mention the truck, its way cheaper to keep it in a marina, which is more convenient. also the rules around oversized in most parts of Australia are quite restrictive around time/and roads that can be used, i did look into all this before i bought one.

The boat is almost 40 grand and at that speed limit it'll take you an hour to go 98 kilometers. A bicycle goes 13 km/hr compared to the boat's 8km/hr without fuel and most offices are not on the river banks.

More electronics in a boat is the last thing you need specially near salt water imagine a bad connection from corrosion on the wires and getting stuck out at sea I rather mechanical stuff you can physically look at and fix
