Those guards were tanks i remember when i first played oblivion and i tried to fight a guard thinking it was like gta sandreas. One guard demolished me in an instant.

Just did this mages guild quest last week, and that guard never fails to slaughter everyone involved. Only way to do it right i know of is to wait until he's out of sight up the road before triggering the ambush. Dude is going hard after that promotion.

Originally they programmed the AI to have a whole life. They'd have to work to get money to buy food, but then there would be major NPC happenings while players weren't even present. Once, the vineyard workers took tools to do their jobs, which made the vineyard owners call the guards for the "stolen" tools, which made the guards attack, but everyone in the vineyard was so close that they all rebelled and fought off the city guard until they were overrun. So they had to dumb the AI down. Really, it makes me want a game where you just watch Oblivion NPCs being insane and fighting epic dynasty wars.

Me with a Paralysis + Flame/Frost on touch damage spell at little magika cost which I can spam. *Hehehe they die on the floor and there's nothing they can do to fight back* My friend about to tell me how unfair it is but then remembering it probably took literal hours to level that destruction, illusion, restoration skills to even begin making the spell: ... *He deserves that fun*
