all the Korean martial arts mentioned here were revived from old books and diagrams. these martial arts were never continuously practiced. practicing martial arts were banned during parts of the Joseon kingdom so people were forced to practice and train in secret or disguise it as a sporting competition like taekkyon was. and what little that survived through the Joseon kingdom was pretty much killed off during the japanese occupation. I might be wrong but I believe taekkyon had the most surviving documentation and records out of all the martial arts mentioned here so it's probably the most accurate.

Thus is like a whole new world. I never knew Korea had so many different styles. I've only known of TKD. It's very similar to Chinese martial arts. But awesome to see.

Most Chinese martial arts use fists and palms. I have never seen a traditional Chinese martial art that actively uses kicks. Bruce Lee's martial art is not a traditional Chinese martial art, but a modern creative martial art.

I don’t say this lightly so please enlighten me I’m not trying to be disrespectful but I really don’t see these working in a fluid aggressive combat situation. I can see that the locks do work because you’re manipulating the joints so of courseYou’re causing pain. I only see these working with a cooperative partner who gives you his arm and doesn’t try to fight you once you grab All. As I said please enlighten me if I’m wrong
