Thanks for that, If you notice I use the toggling East Coast Tuna style harpoon with a whale tail. They are many times better than the pencil tip harpoons so common everywhere. The pancil tip harpoons are terrible and I have had them go in and not detach when I pulled it back out effectively pissing off the halibut and backing right out of the hole. Terrible. With the broad head harpoons I go in easy sometimes cutting a wide slit that severs the spinal column (game over) and i've never had one pull back out.

If there's a whale trying to outrun a pod of Orca- Leave it the Alone! Don't chase it with your boat! They can't hear anything over your outboard. It's like plugging their ears and running them to exhaustion.
